True, military experts immediately denied the statement of the American retirement: teleportation, they say, had not yet been invented. Perhaps the general, speaking to the youth, embellished the situation for a catchphrase. Or he lost touch with reality - that's why he was fired last September.
However, the famous dreamer Elon Musk spoke about the same travel speeds when he defended his SpaceX Starship transport system to investors. His know-how is that he proposed to move around the planet using spaceships, using rocket engines.
Initially, Musk's ships were intended for flights to other planets. But the billionaire thought, why not fly them and at much shorter distances, but with access to outer space? In any case, it will be faster than on airplanes at the traditional height of 10-11 thousand meters above the surface.
