226 Levitation is one of the most mysterious phenomena, in my opinion. I will not argue about whether it exists or not at all, because I am sure that there is levitation. Bypassing all the laws of physics, a person can soar above the earth at will, and not because of the squally wind. How is this possible? Why, in order for the plane to take off, more than one designer had to sacrifice time spent on drawings and calculations, and even life? Whereas a man who knows how to levitate completely ignores gravity, and his flight does not need complex calculations.

One of my favorite authors is Alexander Belyaev. I can't even describe in words how I envied him Ariel - after all, he can fly! And besides him, in my childhood there were characters like Superman and Peter Pan. And they knew how. The child's brain realized that it was possible to try to take off, jumping off the hill: it was good that the instinct of self-preservation was stronger and I was not carried to the roof of a high-rise building. Over time, interest in flying in reality disappeared - new hobbies, studies, and then work slowly extinguished all childhood dreams. Well, almost everything, but levitation was definitely forgotten. Lobsang Rampa reminded me of her again: for some time she was very interested in his books; reading led to the fact that children’s pranks and flying games came to mind again.

Levitation is spoken of in many legends: not a single nation ignored it. The incredible power that people possessed remained in folklore, and is transmitted to us in fairy tales and legends. A fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it, isn't it? I understand that the poet did not mean quite such an interpretation of this phrase, but what the hell is not joking. From the same legends, one can learn that in ancient times in the East, levitation was almost commonplace - as for a modern person to go for bread. People with this skill were treated with reverence. Later in China, India, Nepal, this art became a privilege - yogis and some representatives of the brahmana caste owned it. They talked about Tibetan monks who could soar freely above the ground, about shamans who easily break away from a solid surface, about saints whose thoughts were so pure, that allowed them to ascend into the sky. As for the monks, this applies not only to the adherents of Lamaism, widespread in Tibet, but also to other branches of Buddhism. The hermits were not eager to perform in public - they simply took the optimal posture for meditation. They needed some time to devote to clearing their own thoughts, while some lamas could "start" in a few seconds.

When Bodhidharma arrived in China in 475, he brought with him a teaching that became Zen Buddhism. Traveling and preaching, after a few years he settled in the still young Shaolin monastery. There Bodhidharma, or as he was also called, Damo, taught the monks to master their own body and mind. It is believed that among other complexes of knowledge, Damo taught his followers the ability to heal with their own biofield, become invisible, and fly. Shaolin carefully kept the covenants of the mentor, but time (and maybe even censorship) does not spare anyone - it did not have mercy on ancient knowledge either. Their purity and authenticity have been lost over the centuries, like many yoga asanas. If earlier yoga was aimed not so much at the physical as at the spiritual development of a person and the desire for enlightenment, now it has become part of the world of fitness, and there is no talk of any achievement of any spiritual steps.

The heroes of many fairy tales were runners who covered great distances in a short time. There were also in reality: myths and legends of the ancient world tell about runners who have “one leg here and the other there”. In Tibet, even in the twentieth century, there were lung-gom-pa lamas. The term "lung-gom" itself includes many spiritual practices connected with the system of breathing exercises. The desired result was achieved depending on the combination. Tibetans generally put a lot of emphasis on breathing, but in this training system they have surpassed themselves.

Lung-gom-pa was valued not so much for speed as for endurance. But you should never interrupt them, call or stop them while driving. Before the journey, monks tune in by entering a meditative state. During the journey, they do not need food, water, or sleep - they are able to overcome incredible distances and not even yawn. And the springy gait is the result of persistent training, which, apparently, reduces the weight of the human body and allows it to get off the ground, overcoming small ravines, streams and other obstacles.

Among the biblical miracles and later descriptions of the lives of saints, there are also references to ancient Vedic knowledge, including levitation. Jesus walked on water can also be called a manifestation of this skill. It is also known about the ascension of Orthodox saints who soared in the air, immersed in awe-inspiring ecstasy. Church records preserved information about how Seraphim of Sarov, later canonized, lifted off the ground in full view of several hundred people and soared in the air, and one of the eyewitnesses was the emperor. Vasily the Blessed also did not hide from the general public, and in front of dozens of passers-by he crossed the Moskva River "by air". And Jacob Bruce? Of course, most of the evidence about him is nothing more than fiction, but it is very difficult to separate the grain from the chaff. Others could not understand even half of itwhat did Yakov Vilimovich do, and therefore they easily attributed to the colleague of Peter I conceivable and inconceivable accomplishments. Metal dragon flying and levitation are among them. What? Conveniently. He opened the window of the Sukharev Tower, flew on business, and returned to the window. Life is good.

In ancient treatises containing information on the composition of any witchcraft potions, there were brews that allowed those who took them to fly. Drank - spoke a spell - flew. Or simply, silently. Each "test pilot" was rewarded for such achievements with the blessed fire of the Inquisition. That is why they do not fly.

How do sleepwalkers go? It's good if it's just an unconscious journey from bed to refrigerator (otherwise why is there a light bulb in it?), But if it's a hike along the ledge, but on the top floor? It is a pity that there is no way to test this, and measure the weight of the tested sleepwalker at the time of his movements. Maybe it is somehow decreasing, otherwise how can you explain free, light steps on fences and other unreliable structures? I don’t think it’s just a matter of balance and balance.

In most cases, a person gains the ability to levitate after experiencing strong emotions. It can be fear, or religious feelings, or a state of shock. Unfortunately, this was not taken into account in the Middle Ages, when scales were used to interrogate suspects in witchcraft. Against the background of other methods of "investigation" such as a rack and the accompanying bloody charms, the scales looked very harmless (though this did not prevent the inquisitors from bringing the matter to the desired result in other ways). All that was needed was to stand on one bowl, so much so that the weight of the interrogated was more than some norm accepted in a particular city. Usually it ranged from 5 to 55 kg. If a person weighed more, then charges were often dropped from him. But it also happened that when scared, the "sorcerer" in a state of shock was simply losing his own body weight. This happened in the city of Szeged: a plump woman with a height above average weighed only 1.5 lots, and her husband - 1.25 lots. For reference: the lot is 17.5 grams. And what was that? I don’t think witchcraft. Either the inquisitors "carried out the plan," or the couple simply lost weight. As a result, both were waiting for a fire.

A bit of logic. Why doesn't man fly? Because it is pressed to the ground by the gravitational field, and does not allow it to be carried away into outer space. And there are no wings. But how then do the same yogis rise into the air? Conclusion: they have developed the capabilities of the mind so much that they are able to bypass gravity.

In the 17th century, Descartes suggested that the human soul and body are united in the pineal gland, and called it "the seat of our soul." The pineal gland, also known as the pineal gland, produces melatonin. With its sharp release into the bloodstream, melatonin is able to remove the "restriction", which, like a fuse, prevents a person from acting beyond their capabilities - increases muscle strength, for example. That is, you can just pick up and pick up the bus. True, then not a single intact bone will remain, but these are nuances. In a certain state, such a release of energy resources leads to the fact that the body's weight decreases, and a kind of biofield is formed around it, which can lift a person above the ground. In the Vedas, a similar phenomenon is mentioned, and it is believed that at such moments an emptiness forms in the lungs, which contributes to flight.

According to the results of the research, scientists have distributed the "types" of levitation. The very definition says that this is the ability to stay in the air without resorting to the help of any devices, while flying is not considered levitation. But the ability to become weightless, antigravity, the phenomenon in which the body hangs in the air, and the predominance of the human energy field over the planetary one is the very thing.

For any force to exist, it needs a counterweight. For levitation to exist, a force is needed that compensates for the force of gravity. Science knows diamagnetic levitation, in which the magnetic field is completely displaced from the material, and the possibility of levitation due to the Meissner effect, which has the same nature.

Of course, you can't do without magicians. Levitation feeds a whole galaxy of illusionists, each of whom, to a greater or lesser extent, can depict a flight in reality. You won't be able to repeat a difficult trick without the appropriate skills, but entertaining yourself with a trifle is easy. Place a very strong saline solution, and soak a string up to 30 cm long in it for 24 hours. Then spread it out so that it is perfectly flat, wait for the future focus to dry thoroughly, and wrap it with some light object like a paper clip. Hold it up and light the thread at the same time. It will burn, but the paper clip will remain standing due to salt crystals invisible to the eye, which will create the effect of levitation. The main thing is not to pull on the burnt thread.

The ability to levitate was possessed by Teresa of Avila, Giuseppe Deza, Archbishop John of Novgorod and Pskov, and later - Daniel Hume. A whole article was published about the possibilities of the latter in 1860, an excerpt from which I quote below:

There were many witnesses to this phenomenon. But alas, there were no people able to explain it then, just as it is not even now. Levitation is still somewhere between the little-studied abilities of the human body and mind, and outright charlatanism.
