Reflection on the phenomenon of intuition is as old as the whole of civilization! How did intuitive insights develop the world? Is there a clear answer to the question: what is intuition?

What is the phenomenon of intuition?

Intuition (from Lat. Intueor - I look intently) - the ability to instantly get the right answer to any question. It is associated with extrasensory perception and obtaining knowledge from the information field of the Universe².

Humanity has always tried to find the answer to what intuitive insights are.

  • For example, the ancient Greek philosopher Plato said that intuition is an intellectual ability, pure contemplation of ideas, knowledge that comes as sudden insights, involving a long training of the mind in order to be able to receive them.
  • Then they began to believe that intuition is a feeling: “… unconditionally unquestionable, clear, like the sun … only sensual”, and therefore the secret of intuitive knowledge and “… is concentrated in sensuality” (L. Feuerbach, German philosopher of the 19th century).
  • Intuition was also understood as an instinct hidden in the unconscious (Z. Freud).
  • In some currents of philosophy, intuition is interpreted as divine revelation, as a process incompatible with logic.

Despite all the research, scientists have not been able to give a clear answer where and how clear knowledge arises in a person's mind about things that he cannot know.

How do intuitive insights drive decision making?

Be that as it may, intuition has always helped people make the right decisions; we can say that the world would hardly be the way we see it, without these clues!

DI Mendeleev's discovery of the periodic law of chemical elements, Kekule's definition of the benzene formula, made by both of them in a dream, are typical examples of intuitive insight that changed the world.

Intuition is the ability of direct, immediate comprehension of the truth without preliminary logical reasoning and without proof.

Despite the many opinions and disputes of philosophers, people understand: whatever it is, it is beneficial, and it should be used! Many authors offer various trainings for the development of intuition, but it is worth remembering that many of them have not been experimentally proven; these are just "reflections" of the authors on the topic.

In this matter, the inner attitude is very important. Positive thoughts and the conviction that you deserve not just an answer, but the best answer, inspires intuition to prompt.

Sometimes trainers offer exercises to develop intuition, which also develop the psychic ability of clairvoyance. The technique for one of these exercises is described below. These techniques teach the mind to pay attention to inner cues and intuitions.

  1. Before the start of the working day, the practitioner introduces the faces of each of his colleagues or employees, tries to feel which of them will be the first, whom he will meet when he comes to work.
  2. Does a person, talking with a person, set the inner person of a person? Then he abruptly forgets about the question and listens to the first thoughts that come to mind.
  3. Before reading the letter, the practitioner clamps it between his hands and tries to imagine what information it contains.
  4. Before picking up the telephone receiver, the practitioner tries to intuitively guess who is calling (if the caller is unknown), what and how this person will talk.
