Behind the north wind Boreas
Hyperborea is a legendary northern country, the name of which, translated from Greek, means “beyond the north wind Boreas”.
A number of scientists over the past centuries have tried to prove that Hyperborea is the legendary Atlantis. At the same time, the writer, esotericist Helena Blavatsky in the "Secret Doctrine" wrote about 7 Continents, "on which lived four great Races that preceded our Adamic Race", including: Hyperborea, Lemuria, Atlantis.
Russian oceanographers have established that in the interval 15-30 thousand years BC, the Arctic climate was mild, and the Arctic Ocean was warm, despite the presence of glaciers on the continent. According to Canadian and American scientists, during the Wisconsin Glaciation (the last Ice Age in North America) - about 70 thousand years ago, in the center of the Arctic Ocean there was a zone of temperate climate.

The Indian "Rig Veda", the Iranian "Avesta", Chinese and Tibetan historical chronicles, Russian epics, myths and legends of different peoples of the world describe the northern ancestral home with polar phenomena - the northern lights and the polar night, where the Sun rises and sets once a year, and the year is divided into one long day and one long night. In the Vedas there is a phrase: "That which is a year is only one day and one night of the Gods."
The Roman statesman, scientist - encyclopedist and historian Pliny the Elder wrote about the Hyperboreans as an ancient people living in the Arctic Circle and genetically related to the Hellenes through the cult of Apollo of Hyperborean.
Hyperborea is mentioned in the works of Homer, Herodotus, Plato, Diodorus of Siculus, Nicholas Roerich. Nostradamus in his "Centuries" called the Russians "the Hyperborean people."

Such ancient deities as the Egyptian Osiris and the Syrian Adonis, in the distant past, personified the Sun, which in northern latitudes hides behind the horizon for several months, giving way to a long polar night.
Jean Bailly calculated that the 40-day cycle preceding the resurrection of Osiris corresponds to the "dying and resurrection" of the Sun at latitude 68 degrees north.
The scientist believed that it was here that the ancestral home of the Egyptians should be sought. The 68th parallel runs through the center of the Kola Peninsula, crosses Yamal and the Gulf of Ob, as well as vast territories of Western and Eastern Siberia.
One of the most ancient names for the Sun is Kolo (hence the “ring”, “wheel”, “bell”). In ancient times, the Sun was associated with the pagan solar Deity Kolo-Kolyada, in whose honor the holiday of caroling was celebrated - the day of the winter solstice. From the name of the ancient Solntsebog Kolo-Kolyada, the name of the Kola River and the Kola Peninsula arose.

One of the maps of the famous cartographer and geographer Gerard Mercator (16th century) shows a huge continent in the North Pole region. It is an archipelago of islands separated by rivers. In the very center there is a mountain (according to legend - Mount Meru). How in the 16th century did the cartographer know information about the continent that existed 20 thousand years ago? It can be assumed that Mercator had an ancient map on which the Northern Ocean was free of ice, and the mainland was located in its center.
The study of the North began during the reign of Empress Catherine II. In 1764, she signed a secret decree on the organization of two expeditions led by Admiral Vasily Chichagov with the aim of "resuming whale and other animal and fish industries on Spitsbergen." Chichagov's son wrote in his memoirs that it was an "expedition to the North Pole." By decree of the empress, it was ordered when the ship went out into the open sea to open the package with instructions, where it was said that you need to sail towards the pole. The instructions were written in the hand of Mikhail Lomonosov. The Chichagov expedition stumbled upon powerful ice and returned back.
In the twentieth century, the Cheka and Dzerzhinsky personally showed interest in the search for Hyperborea. In 1922, an expedition led by Alexander Barchenko, a well-known esoteric researcher, was looking for the secret of an "absolute weapon" similar to a nuclear one. The Institute of the Brain and Academician Bekhterev personally instructed Barchenko to conduct research on the mysterious phenomenon of measuring - the polar psychosis inherent in the aborigines of the North.
Near Seydozero, researchers found rectangular hewn granite blocks, on the tops of mountains and in swamps - "pyramids" similar to mounds, found paved sections of an ancient road and stumbled upon an unusual hole leading into the depths of the earth.
The results of the research of the expedition were presented to the Cheka and classified in the archives. Barchenko was accused of espionage and shot in 1938. What became of the researcher's written work is unknown.
Scientists believe that it makes sense to look for traces of Hyperborea in the Eurasian and American North, on the islands and archipelagos of the Arctic Ocean, on the ocean shelf, at the bottom of some seas, lakes and rivers.
Valery Demin's expedition
In recent decades, researchers have been actively prospecting in the Kola Peninsula and in Karelia.
In 2001, an expedition led by Russian scientist Valery Demin carried out geolocation studies of the Seydozero bottom. The result showed that under the bottom of the reservoir there is a tunnel clogged with silt, which runs from one bank to another and goes into the bowels of Mount Ninchurt. The ground penetrating radar, which "shines through" the ground for 30 m, stated: in the mountains at both ends of the tunnel there are extensive underground shelters. Geologists are convinced that the natural origin of the caves is impossible.
The expedition found the remains of foundations, geometrically regular blocks, inverted columns - the remains of powerful stone structures that existed in antiquity. The blocks are fitted so precisely that you cannot push the blade through, their surface is as if cut off with a knife. The weight of the largest blocks, laid like bricks, is about 50 tons.
Examination of the samples split off from the stone blocks showed that they are of technogenic origin, and their age is about 12 thousand years.
Valery Demin wrote: “These and other finds suggest that a highly developed civilization once flourished in the north of our homeland. She could have died as a result of some powerful natural disaster. A nuclear explosion could have been a consequence of the cataclysm. However, Hyperborea did not disappear without a trace: it left behind descendants - the Aryans, and those, in turn, Slavs and Russians. This may mean that we are the descendants of the most ancient and mysterious civilization on the planet. Valery Demin was sure that the highly developed civilization of Hyperboreans existed 15 - 20 thousand years ago.
In 2007, on one of the islands of the White Sea, the ruins of a grandiose structure were discovered - an ancient city called by Russian scientists the "Northern City of the Sun" - Northern Heliopolis. The expedition discovered a giant stone throne and mysterious stone labyrinths.
In the "Texts of the Builders" of the ancient Egyptian temple of Edfu, it is mentioned that the first builders of Ancient Egypt were the Noble ones from the North - sages who arrived from the islands of the mysterious Northern country, whose inhabitants died in very distant times as a result of a powerful flood.

In 1970, on the Kola Peninsula, on the territory of the geological Baltic shield, to study the lithosphere, drilling began on the Kola superdeep well - the deepest borehole in the world. For 20 years of drilling, its depth has reached 12261 meters. Volcanic rocks about 3 billion years old come to the surface in these places. The well was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest in the world. In 2010, the well was abandoned, allegedly due to unprofitability, although in the process of research a lot of valuable information about the earth's interior was obtained.
