One of the most exciting issues of our time is the existence of life on other planets.

Biologists, astronomers, and astrophysicists tirelessly discuss the possibility of life emerging in other worlds. Considering the conditions on exoplanets as possible for the formation of life, they, first of all, speak of microorganisms no more complicated than bacteria.

But many believe that life in the universe has much more complex forms and has reached such a level that it can cross the interstellar abysses and inspire hope in some of us and fear in others.

Leveland, 1957

In the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," there is a famous scene where a UFO interferes with the work of automotive electronics. The scene was inspired by an incident witnessed by dozens of residents in the Texas city of Levelland in 1957.

They observed a rocket or strange lights, from the presence of which engines stalled and headlights went out. At first, the police thought that all reports of this were a hoax. But then the police saw strange lights and went to study what was happening. The Blue Book project got involved.

As a result, everything was written off with regular and ball lightning, despite the fact that no rains and storms were observed in Levelland in those days.

Tehran, 1976

It all started with calls to the police from townspeople worried about strange lights in the sky.

It was September 19, 1976. An F-4 fighter was raised to investigate the phenomenon, but as soon as it approached an unknown object, its instruments failed, and the pilot had to return.

The second fighter was more successful, and even managed to lock onto the target. But the UFO launched a luminous blob into the fighter.

The pilot managed to return to the airfield.

Iran turned to the United States for help in the investigation. US Air Force Colonel Olin Mui reported that the bright glow that Tehranians saw was Jupiter, and the F-4 fighter was known for problems with electronics. And regarding "alien rockets" it was stated that there was a meteor shower that night.

Belgian Wave, 1989-1990

In late November 1989, many residents of Belgium reported seeing a large triangular UFO hovering in the sky.

Apart from these statements, there was no evidence of the subject's presence.

A few months later, in March 1990, reports were received of the observation, this time of numerous objects. There was also confirmation from two military ground radars.

Two F-16 fighters took to the air. The pilots were unable to visually confirm the presence of unidentified objects, but their radars recorded targets. The UFOs moved so fast that the pilots soon lost them.

In total, more than 13 thousand people observed UFOs in Belgium. The Belgian Air Force was unable to offer a logical explanation for the events, but admitted that unknown activity took place in the country's airspace.
