Or maybe they just had the technology that made it possible to carry out such work with ease?
Khal-Saflieni is a huge sanctuary, which ancient builders carved into the limestone and, according to approximate data, the age of this structure is at least six thousand years old, is it not surprising? Many objects in Hal-Saflieni are distinguished by regular shapes, and the sanctuary itself consists of thirty-four rooms, which area is about 480 square meters.
Scientists are amazed also by the polishing of surfaces, which was done by builders more than 6 thousand years ago. The assumption of historians about the purpose of this structure is also interesting. They believe that the sanctuary could previously contain about 6 thousand remains, but only a few remains of people and animals were found.
It is likely that various rituals with sacrifices were arranged in this sanctuary. Scientists find it difficult to answer who exactly could build such caves and cannot name the exact technologies with which the sanctuary was built in limestone. And if you take into account the scale of the construction, then there are many questions that are not yet possible to answer.
