The Ennedy Plateau is a very amazing and unusual place in Africa. The view of this formation is fascinating. Natural arches, balancing stones, sandstone pillars, black and mushroom-shaped rocks, it's all about the Ennedy plateau. The arches in this area constitute a huge competition and are in no way inferior to the overseas Arok Park in the United States. However, due to its location, the African plateau is much inferior in the flow of tourists.

Due to the growing level of banditry, political unrest and high levels of poverty, not every traveler dares to come here, in addition to this, there is no developed infrastructure. Therefore, you can get to the Ennedy plateau by means of an SUV or a camel.

The Ennedy Plateau is surrounded by the sands of the Sahara, so this natural formation rises majestically above the desert. The cliffs of the plateau are a ridge of sandstones, which have been worked on for a long time by wind erosion, which became the sculptor of these unusual forms. Some of the rocks have a characteristic black color, which here is called desert tan. This color is found not only on the Ennedy plateau, but also in other parts of the Sahara, and is a black ferromanganese film that covers the rocks.

Previously, in order to get brave travelers to Ennedy, it was necessary to join the caravans, but now you can get here by jeeps from the nearest town of Fada, which exists on the plateau. All tourists who managed to reach this place, all expectations are met in full. Natural arches are especially popular here, which are favorite for climbers. Some of the arches can be up to 120 meters high.

For a long time, the arches in Annedy were considered unconquered, but in 2010 the situation changed. The climbing expedition, consisting of James Pearson, Mark Sinnott, Renan Oztürk and Alex Honnold, reached a plateau at the end of 2010. The group was amazed at the sight of unusual formations and arches that had never been seen before. On this expedition, the group decided to implement a previously unfulfilled one and they managed to conquer the highest arch in Annedy.

The Ennedy plateau occupies a rather large area, about 40 thousand km², which is slightly less than the area of Switzerland or the Netherlands. The highest peak on the plateau is Hajer Momou, with a height of 1311 meters, and the highest arch, the Aloba arch, with a height of 120 meters, is also considered one of the most beautiful on the planet.

An especially popular place and a highlight of Ennedy is the famous Gelta d'Arshey, which can be considered a tourist attraction in sightseeing.
