Like the ancient Greeks, I built a psychomanteum where people could come to talk to the souls of the dead. It was quite obvious that with the proper preparation, people could see the ghosts of their deceased loved ones … Instead of telling the doctor about how hard they felt the loss of a spouse or child, they could talk to them directly.

The appearance of ghosts - this visible form of a person who is physically absent - serves as proof that life continues after the death of the body. The fact that ghosts exist is objectively proven by case studies and laboratory experiments.
Widespread phenomenon
For the first time a systematic study of ghosts was carried out by the British OPI in 1882. The results of the study were reflected in the book "Ghosts of the Living" by Myers, Podmore and Gurney. 1889 - Another, much larger study was carried out. There have been 32,000 reports of ghost appearances. The report, published in 1894, occupied almost the entire tenth volume of Proceedings of the OPI.
Further research by the American OPI and French researcher Camille Flammarion, who described thousands of ghost appearances in his books The Unknown and Death and Its Mystery, also showed that contact with the other world is widespread.
1973 - An employee from the University of Chicago conducted a poll of 1,467 Americans who were asked if they ever felt that they were in contact with any of the deceased. 27% of the respondents answered positively to this question. A similar survey in Iceland gave 31% of the affirmative answers.

British physician V.-D. Reese found that 47% of surveyed widows in Wales had witnessed phenomena - often multiple times over the years - that convinced them that their deceased husbands had spoken to them. An earlier experiment conducted by the British researcher Dr. P. Marris in 1958 showed a result of 50%.
This experiment was replicated in Canada by Dr. Earl Dunn (1977), who also found that 50% of widows and widowers came into contact with deceased spouses. Many of these people thought they were "going crazy" and did not tell anyone about it, rightly fearing ridicule.
Deceased children usually come into contact with relatives
Some of the studies have shown that very many parents who have died children can see or hear them and experience great relief for the first time in several months after the death of a child.
The pediatrician Melvin Morse, who has carefully studied the phenomena of death and the process of dying, claims that this phenomenon is so widespread that it is rare when a person who has lost a child or any of their parents does not meet them again in visions associated with death.
These are not hallucinations
There are ample explanations as to why these phenomena are not hallucinations, fulfillment of passionate desires, or arise in an unconscious state.
The normal state of mind of eyewitnesses
In most cases of this kind, a person is in an absolutely normal mental state, free from intense stress or euphoria. The appearance of ghosts became a complete surprise and took place in a familiar place. Eyewitnesses are not mediums, or telepaths - few of them could report that this phenomenon took place more than 1-2 times in their lives. In many cases, the eyewitnesses were related to science, that is, they were people who inspire confidence.
Objective phenomena
The appearance of a ghost is often accompanied by tangible physical processes such as movement or breaking of objects, certain sounds, for example, the sounds of footsteps that have been recorded on tape. According to observations, the presence of a shadow is noted in ghosts, they can be reflected in the mirror, some ghosts overturned furniture, left smells, asked for help, in another way, demonstrated all the qualities of a real being.
At times, ghosts even leave samples of their handwriting. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a talented physician who was one of the first to study death and the process of dying, reported that her former patient came to her just when she was about to quit her job.
Mrs. Schwartz (this woman's name) entered the elevator with Kübler-Ross and escorted her to her office, where she asked her not to quit her work on the study of death and the process of dying. Dr. Kübler-Ross thought she was hallucinating because her patient died 10 months ago. However, when the doctor invited Mrs. Schwartz to sign on a piece of paper, she complied with this request, and then disappeared without a trace.
Several people can see ghosts at once
Many of the reported cases of ghosts have been reported by several people. For example, in the case studied by the Society for Psychical Research, 9 residents of a house in Ramsbury, England, observed together and separately for several months the cast of a person who died almost a year ago. He was invariably near the bed of his dying widow, and his hand rested on her forehead. The ghost could be seen every time for half an hour.
Professor Hornell Hart, in his book The Continuing Life Enigma, says that from one to two thirds of all ghosts were seen by more than one person and each eyewitness saw them in his own way, according to the correction for the angle of view.
Transfer of information unknown to the observer
In numerous cases, a ghost that appears gives the observer information about how he died, about the place of burial or other unknown information. In one well-known case, confirmed in the American court (the so-called Cheffin's will case), the late father spoke to one of his sons and told him the details of how to find his will.
In some cases, ghosts appear, apparently to save their loved ones from danger. This was the case with Elaine Worrell, who lived with her husband Hod on the top floor of an apartment building in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Once she found in the hallway of her apartment an unfamiliar man who asked her to urgently go down the floor below, to the apartment of a neighbor. Elaine found a woman lying there on the bed - her wrists were cut. They managed to save the woman. She later showed Elaine Worrell a photograph of her deceased husband, and she was amazed to recognize him as the same stranger who had brought her to her widow's apartment.
The ghosts that appear at the time of death
There are many cases when the ghost of a recently deceased person appears in front of one or more loved ones in order to inform them of his death. In many of these cases, death was unexpected, and it was subsequently confirmed that death occurred just before the appearance of the ghost.
Here are some of the examples documented and confirmed by various researchers.
The case of Lt. Leslie Poynter, who was killed in action. At nine o'clock in the evening, at the time of his death, Leslie Poynter suddenly appeared in his sister's bedroom, bent over her, kissed her and then, smiling happily, just as suddenly disappeared. It was only two weeks later that the Pointer family received a notice of his death, which occurred on that very day and at the same time.
The case of Mrs. Pakket, whose brother, Edmund, suddenly appeared before her 6 hours after drowning at sea, with the story of how his legs were tied with a rope and thrown overboard.
The case of Mrs. Gladys Watson, who slept deeply and was awakened by someone calling her by her name. When she woke up, she saw her grandfather at the bedside, who told her: “Don't be afraid. It's me. I just died. When the woman woke up her husband, he, of course, did not believe her and called his grandfather on the phone. On the other end of the line, he was informed that he had died suddenly just a few minutes ago.
Posthumous agreements
According to Bennett, in every 20 of all the cases, the descriptions of which are stored in the archive of the PIU, "posthumous agreements" are concluded, when two people promise each other that the one who dies first will try to come to the other.
As evidenced by the facts, most of these agreements were actually implemented.
One day Lord Brogham, the peer of England, was traveling through Sweden. One day, his university friend (or rather, his ghost), whom he had not seen or remembered for many years, unexpectedly appeared before the lord. Over time, the lord received a letter stating that his friend had died in India, and the date of his death coincided with the appearance of the ghost. While still at university, they often discussed the issue of life after death and even made a blood-sealed agreement that the one who dies first will come to the other.
Mrs. Bellamy of Bristol made this kind of agreement with a friend of hers at school, whom she did not see for years. On the night of his friend's death, Mr. Bellamy saw the ghost of an unknown woman in the bedroom. His wife was asleep at that moment. In the morning, he no doubt identified his wife's friend from a school photo.
Ghosts are spawned in the lab
Dr. Moody, renowned for his research on NDEs (near-death experiences), attempted to summon ghosts in controlled laboratory conditions. Moody turned to the classical works of ancient authors, where it was said that when people wanted to make contact with deceased relatives, they resorted to the help of the oracle in the psychomanteum.
Psychomanteum is a specially equipped laboratory where mirrors are used to facilitate mental processes. Part of the necessary mental process involves sending telepathic messages by transmitting vibrations to the chosen recipient into the world of the dead.
Moody has revolutionized this process and the results are astounding: 85% of his clients, who are trained throughout the day, actually come into contact with the deceased loved one - but not necessarily the one they wanted. Most of this happens in a specially built psychomanteum, but in 25% of cases later it happens in the contactees' own homes - often a person wakes up and observes a ghost at a distance of a meter from the bed.
The psychomanteum phenomenon is still at an early stage of research, but is steadily spreading in America. People undergo special training to learn how to use the psychomanteum. According to Diana Arcangel, a colleague of Dr. Moody's, in some cases when contact is established, the person seeking contact receives information that was previously unknown to him. All of Moody's clients insist that this contact is not a hallucination, there is a clear two-way communication, and in some cases even physical contact. Moody expresses his amazement this way.
It became clear that encounters with ghosts were perceived as real events, not fantasies or dreams. To date, nearly all subjects have claimed that their encounters were perfectly real and that they felt the living presence of deceased loved ones.
Moody also noted that by all indications, people experience a paranormal state, which, like the NDE, changes their worldview and encourages them to become "kinder, more understanding and less afraid of death."
