The Urals, where the ancient Chud wells are located, also reveals its secrets. Unusual mines are scattered in different places and amaze tourists with their volume, size and depth. It is recommended to see such an unusual place for everyone who gets to the Urals at least once.
Quite a lot of such mines have been found in the central territories of the South Ural mountains. In half of them, local residents obtained minerals such as copper, gold ore and tin. But for what production the rest of the Chud wells served remains a mystery. These amazing places greatly influenced the development of metallurgy in the country.
It was in the Urals and Altai that ore appeared thanks to ancient pits and mines. From about the 17th century, expeditions have already begun to travel here. Here you can find small pits, about 6-8 m, which served for the development of ore deposits. There are also workings that reach 10-14 m depth. By the way, a larger-scale well was found near the city of Orsk: 15-20 m wide and almost 130 m deep.

Of course, various Ural civilizations lived on this territory, but it was the Chud that attracted special attention. In translation, this word means "old people". They say that this was a fairly tall and handsome people. They lived in the mountains, in indescribably beautiful dwellings, which they built right inside the mountains. They were invisible to other villages and even if strangers appeared on their territory, they could leave them by underground passages.
There are many legends about this people in these places. They say that these are the indigenous people of the Urals, who did an excellent job with mining. When modern peoples came to the territory, the Chud people simply disappeared underground, taking with them all the accumulated wealth. Rumor has it that their villages are still covered with huge megaliths, and the inhabitants themselves along underground passages.
Presumably, these strange people just worked at the mines, which numbered up to 2 thousand. Their age is about 4 thousand years. The extraction of minerals in the Chud wells went on quite intensively and on a large scale, but it is not known whether the Chuds really have any significance for this.
To date, only small, little-preserved settlements and tools have been found, including stone hammers, wedges, crushers, and bone picks. Copper, bronze and iron picks and hammers were also found, which clearly improved ore mining. All these devices indicate that someone was really actively involved in mining, but who cannot be asserted.
