The Western world (and partly other countries) celebrate Halloween at the end of October. The appearance of ghosts is traditionally associated with this holiday, however, some unusual creatures, such as Children with black eyes, also loved to appear in public on this day.
Briefly about who the Children with Black Eyes are. At first glance, these are just children with unusual behavior. They can stand by the side of the road and be silent just by looking at you.
They may knock on your house or your car and ask them to bring them water or give them a ride somewhere.
The most important thing in this case is never to comply with their requests. Because these are not children, but something completely different. They can be identified by their thick black eyes, in which the white part is not visible at all and sometimes even the pupils are not visible. They are also usually dressed in loose black or outdated clothing and dirty.
It is difficult to say where the tales about these Children originally came from, usually they are considered just an urban legend, however, unlike the usual heroes of Western urban legends - various killer clowns or the same Slenderman, stories with Children with black eyes happen much more often and where they are more incomprehensible. They are also not so much scary as stressful for everyday life.
In these stories, as a rule, there is nothing particularly shocking, there are no injuries, no crimes, and Children with black eyes do not look like monsters from horror films. And nevertheless, such stories are frightening precisely with their atmosphere and a sense of strong danger.
Most of the stories with Black Eyed Children originated in the 1990s and involve attempts to break into a house or requests to drive them in a car. More recent stories tell about other places, including Halloween appearances.

"We're lost"
A Reddit user with the nickname "halloweenwarning" from Portland, Oregon, claimed that one day on Halloween he noticed that his neighbor did not decorate his house with pumpkins, plastic skeletons or other paraphernalia. And this was very unusual for a neighbor, in previous years he decorated his house very colorfully.
When the author asked him what had happened, the neighbor responded by telling him a frightening story that happened to him last Halloween. His doorbell rang and he decided that it was the children who had come to beg for sweets and sweets. But when he opened the door, there were two teenagers on the doorstep without Halloween costumes,
“They were two boys, 16-17 years old. They were dressed plainly in dark trousers and plaid flannel shirts. And although the teenagers did not have time to say anything yet, the neighbor immediately felt a great danger coming from them.
When he looked at their faces, he saw. that they have very large, dark pupils that occupy almost the entire eye. The neighbor decided that it was just such contact lenses, while he really wanted to close the door as soon as possible. However, he continued to stand in the doorway with a bowl of chocolates in his hands.
Finally the younger teenager spoke up. He said that they were lost and they needed to call, and for this to enter his house. The neighbor immediately said "No" and half closed the door, fearing that they would sink into his house by force.
The children did nothing for this, they just turned and left. The neighbor was so scared that he did not turn off the lights and TV in the house until nightfall, fearing to remain in silence and darkness. And that's why he doesn't want to decorate his home this year, so as not to attract the attention of these children again.
I listened to his story almost with a smile. I figured he was just going to scare me with a Halloween horror story and asked him if he had read urban legends about the Children with Black Eyes. The neighbor looked at me blankly at this and began to ask “What? Who are they?"
Then I went to my house, and an hour later the neighbor knocked on me and he looked frightened. It turned out that during this time he had googled on the Internet and found these stories.
And he began to tell me that until now he hadn't heard anything about these Children at all, but that last year's incident with him was completely real."
Ma'am, let us in the house
Another story also came from the user "sarabeth11" from Reddit, and according to her, she hadn't heard anything about Children with Black Eyes before. That Halloween, the holiday activity of children in their street for some reason was small and by evening the street was already empty.
At about 10 pm, the woman decided to go for a walk with the dog while her husband was showering in the bathroom. But just as she was getting ready to leave the house, someone knocked hard on the front door. This immediately struck the woman as odd. they had a large lock button next to the door.
At the same time, when she went to open the door, she caught a glimpse that her dog suddenly ran into a corner and sat there, huddled and trembling finely. She saw for the first time. for her dog to behave like that.
Through the window, the woman saw that there were two small children standing in front of the door, and, as in the first story, in ordinary clothes, and not in a fancy dress. They were a girl of 8-9 years old and a boy of 11-12 years old. It should be noted that in this area so late children of this age do not walk at all, at this time they are already put to bed. This detail also struck the woman as strange.
“When I opened the door, the children began to very politely ask to come inside and call their mother from my phone. But something inside my belly told me they were lying. Nowadays, even 7-year-old children already have their own cell phones and I said to them “Don't you have your own phones?”.
To this the girl replied “Ma'am, our phones are dead, please let us into the house and we will call our mother. We are alone here and my brother is afraid of the dark."
Two feelings immediately collided inside me. One of them literally screamed about danger, while the other was absorbed in maternal pity for two poor children who only want to call their mother. And I unconsciously opened the door even wider than at the beginning.
But then something stopped me. “Girl, tell your mom's phone number and I'll call your mom myself,” I said. The children silently looked at each other, and then again began plaintively and politely to ask to go inside, but now with another reason “Ma'am, my brother needs to go to the toilet, let us into the house while you call our mom.”
At that moment, the girl came closer to me and the light of their hall fell on her. And I got a good look at her face, and especially the thick black eyes without whites. My maternal instinct was gone, too. being replaced by horror. I almost slammed the door immediately, leaving only a narrow gap to see what they would do next.
The girl continued whining, “Ma'am, we just need to go inside. We're scared here. Please help us! . And then, as if on command, both children began to whimper and tears began to flow down their faces. But then fear filled me even more and I completely closed the door, shouting at the end “Tell me the number and I'll call myself”.
Then I still looked after them through the window and they stood for some time on my porch. I fought the urge to run and call my husband, but I didn't want to lose sight of them. The children were still standing when I decided to call our neighbor and went to get my cell phone. Immediately I noticed that my dog had disappeared somewhere and I went to look for it.
The dog was found under the bed in the guest room. She threw herself against the wall in fear. And when I returned to the door and started calling my neighbor, the children were still standing outside by my porch. Only when I started talking to my neighbor did the children go somewhere, and when the neighbor left his house, they were nowhere to be seen and he also did not see them anywhere."
Walked through the closed door
The following story was told by a user under the nickname "bloodybones". It happened in late October just before Halloween day. That evening he went on his usual 3-mile walk before bed, and when he got home, he saw something strange.
“I was walking past houses whose residents were decorating their lawns and doors for Halloween, and suddenly I saw two teenagers, 14 years old, knocking on the house and you could hear them asking to come in and make a phone call.
All of this immediately struck me as strange. Firstly, most adolescents these days and cannot live without a telephone, and secondly, I felt the danger coming from them. My blood literally froze in my veins when I looked at them. And when I passed this house, they turned sharply and stared at me.
I got scared and I quickened my pace, and when I walked to the end of the street and turned around, I saw these two teenagers following me in the distance. After that, I immediately almost ran to the nearest shop and went inside.
I told the cashier that teenagers were following me and he suddenly pointed to the store door. I turned around and saw these two teenagers standing there asking to be allowed inside.
The cashier immediately blocked the door because he was also frightened. He didn't know if they were hooligans or armed robbers, but he didn't want to risk it. But one of the teenagers suddenly entered through the door, it seems as if he did not care at all that it was closed. And at that moment I saw his eyes, they were black like a starless night.
What happened next, I remember very badly, the second teenager also went inside and the cashier began to try to drive them away. I instinctively rushed to help him, grabbed one teenager by the collar and helped push him out into the street, and when I was on the street, I ran to my house without looking back.
Near the house, I looked around and saw that the teenagers were following me. Those same two. I ran into my house, closed the door, lowered the blinds on all the windows, turned on the music on the volume. I don’t know how long they were near my house.
A few days later I tried to find that cashier and thank him for his help, but he was not in the store. I asked his boss where he had gone and he said that he had quit.
Sometimes I look out the window and I think I can still see these two teenagers. They are standing somewhere in the distance and watching my house, as if waiting for the right chance."
