A recent poll shows what Americans really think about UFOs, Area 51 and the government's withholding of related information.

Back last month, the Royal Air Force announced that they were planning to declassify and publish their archive of the latest UFO reports online. And this announcement has generated tremendous interest and excitement on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. And now, a recent poll by the Pipilsay Institute for Market Research has shown what Americans really think about UFOs, what their stance is on conspiracy theories, and how they think the US government might know more about the phenomenon than admits.

50% of respondents admitted that the news that the "classified materials" will be published in the UK, aroused their delight, while 34% believe that this will only lead to "unnecessary madness". However, a total of approximately 61% of respondents said they would like the US government to take similar steps to declassify UFO information.

58% of respondents believe that the government has already discovered alien life and is keeping it secret, and 39% believe that the dubious Area 51 in Nevada is directly involved in such contacts.

With regard to UFOs in general, 27% of respondents believe that they are "real" (which they would probably like to express their confidence that these objects are of extraterrestrial origin), while 25% believed that the UFO phenomenon can be explained natural causes. At the same time, 9% believe that all these UFOs are just a big deception. But 77% of those surveyed said they saw a UFO in person.

A parallel study in the UK found that 60% of respondents welcome the publication of UFO documents, but only 23% believe that UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin. But at the same time in Britain, 78% more people showed that they saw UFOs with their own eyes.
