The fact that obtaining energy literally from air (or from ether - there was such a concept in physics until the beginning of the 20th century), in principle, is possible, was demonstrated at one time by the brilliant inventor Nikola Tesla (1856-1943). This Slav (Serb by birth) who worked in America made fantastic inventions and discoveries that shocked his contemporaries. Moreover, Tesla did not need mathematical calculations and numerous experimental models. His brain received knowledge ready-made - through flashes of insight. The inventor argued that he received information about the discoveries from somewhere outside (one can only guess where - from the Higher Intelligence or from extraterrestrial civilizations who wanted to help the progress of earthlings, who by that time had already gone the wrong way and began to get hooked on the oil needle?). However, few people took these statements of the scientist seriously …
Nikola Tesla demonstrated his most amazing experiment to the world at the very beginning of the twentieth century. With the help of the Wardencliffe Tower he built on Long Island near New York, he illuminated the night sky over the Atlantic so much that one could read newspaper headlines freely! The New York Sun wrote: “Layers of the atmosphere ignited at different heights and over a large area, so that night instantly turned into day. All the air was filled with glow. However, his experience was unlikely to appeal to the tycoons who made huge amounts of money selling electricity. It is probably no coincidence that a few years earlier, there was a fire in Tesla's laboratory on Fifth Avenue. The building burned down to the ground, the latest achievements of the inventor were destroyed.
The Wardencliff Tower, about 50 m high, was built with the financial support of the famous banker John Morgan. Sly Tesla concealed from him that the tower was intended not only for broadcasting radio waves, but also for wireless transmission of electricity. As soon as Morgan realized this, he immediately … refused funding. After all, this invention could bring down the energy market: who will buy what can be obtained practically free of charge? As a co-owner of the world's first Niagara hydroelectric power station and large copper plants, Morgan could not afford such a "disgrace". The Wardencliff Tower stood abandoned for several years, and in 1917 it was blown up under a very strange pretext - supposedly it could have been used by German spies … However, Tesla continued his research.
As some researchers testify, in 1931 the scientist surprised with a new phenomenon. The gasoline engine was removed from an ordinary car, and an electric motor was installed in its place. Then Tesla attached a small box, from which he pulled out two rods. It is said that he drove this car, reaching speeds of up to 150 km / h. Moreover, there were no batteries or accumulators! And when asked where the energy comes from, he calmly answered: "From the ether that surrounds us." Probably, the genius sincerely counted on triumph, but he got something opposite … They did not believe him and spread a rumor about the scientist's connections with the devil. Insulted Tesla removed the mysterious box from the car and was never seen again. The mystery of the energy source still remains unsolved.
Perhaps all this is just a legend. But it fits well with Tesla's postulate that every millimeter of space is saturated with boundless energy, which you just need to be able to extract. The great inventor believed that the Earth is the center of a giant generator, which, as it rotates, creates a potential difference of billions of volts. And humanity actually lives in a spherical capacitor of a gigantic capacity, which is constantly being charged and discharged. In such a capacitor, the ionosphere is a phase, the atmosphere is a dielectric, and the Earth is the zero point. Thus, a global electrical process is taking place on our planet.

Each of us could observe the confirmation of Nikola Tesla's ideas many times. After all, an ordinary thunderstorm is nothing more than a "discharge of a giant capacitor." It is known that the energy of the most ordinary thunderstorm is equivalent to the explosion of a small atomic bomb, that is, approximately 15-16 kilotons in TNT equivalent. There is plenty of clean energy around us. But people do not know how to extract it, and for some reason they are not too concerned about finding technical solutions. Or is someone still preventing them from doing this? Why do we still use an environmentally harmful internal combustion engine, and associate the development of electric vehicles only with batteries? Is it because greed in modern society is above reason, and the profit from oil sales is more important than ecology and health? It is no secret that the increase in the incidence of fatal ailments today is largely caused by the pollution of the planet with hydrocarbon combustion products. But the oil tycoons and officials associated with them do not seem to care …
Nikola Tesla's contemporaries argued that the physicist's archive was confiscated by the special services immediately after his death. Many of his patents were seized and classified by the US government, and some of his important papers mysteriously disappeared … At the same time, more than 150 thousand documents stored in the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade are still waiting for their researchers.
