Quite a lot has already been written about the Crimean War. In foreign sources, it is called the Black Sea-Baltic campaign, forgetting about the battles in the Pacific Ocean, apparently there are reasons for that. Some historians call it World War Zero, and with good reason. And we know it in the majority of the heroic defense of Sevastopol.
The events of the Crimean War were known to us mainly from literary works and drawings by various authors. But few have seen photographs of this war. Despite the remoteness of this event, the enemy forces at that time already owned the photo business and recorded what was happening in sufficient detail. And thanks to this, we can now see Sevastopol as we will never see it again, and even despite the fact that during the Crimean War, little of it remained intact. Probably, many will be interested to see what structures were at that time in Sevastopol, and what weapons they fought there. Photos in many ways raise questions, however, judge for yourself. As they say, it is better to see once.
