The kingdom of Osiris flourished, all people rejoiced and revered their good king. Music sounded everywhere, but in one place there was no joy. In Seth's palace, the windows were hung and the doors closed. Gloomy armed guards were stationed around his palace. Seth's palace looked rich. In the middle of the hall there was a table with wines and various treats, and around it in carved chairs were the queen god Set, queen of Ethiopia Aso, as well as seventy-two terrible demons. Seth himself presided over this terrible gathering.

The question that was decided at this meeting was how to get rid of the hated Osiris. Seth was the first to suggest killing the rightful king. Aso supported him, saying that only the death of Osiris would save them. She explained that due to the fact that Osiris established peace and order everywhere, the subjects no longer want to attack their neighbors, plunder their cities, and also capture slaves. Thus, it was impossible to get rich in an unrighteous way under Osiris.

Demons also longed for the death of Osiris, but did not know how to kill him. However, Seth, who did not have any nobility and remorse, had already prepared an insidious plan to eliminate his brother. He ordered his slaves to make a chest decorated with gold and precious stones to the exact size. He prepared it as a "gift" for Osiris.

Soon, Set announced a feast, to which he invited Osiris with feigned humility. Osiris and Set were brothers, and therefore there was nothing strange in such an invitation. Unsuspecting Osiris gratefully accepted the invitation, donned festive clothes and arrived at the palace of Set.

Homemade wine recipes are passed down from generation to generation, from father to son. And if the nuances of winemaking contain secrets that are inaccessible to uninitiated people, then even more so it concerns the art of government. Seth claimed the throne, but had no idea of the responsibility that falls on the ruler.

During the invited feast, Seth treated everyone to exquisite dishes, and at the end, trying to show his immeasurable generosity, announced that he wanted to give a precious chest to someone who would have it in time. However, to find out, it was necessary to lie in this chest. For the sake of appearance, one of the demons jumped into the chest, as if also wanting to receive a valuable gift. However, the chest was too small for him. For other guests, the chest also did not fit. It was Osiris' turn. Not wanting to offend his brother, Osiris also lay down in the chest, crossing his arms on his chest. Everyone was quiet.

- Your treasure! Seth yelled.

These words were a conventional sign for the conspirators. They, as is the spirit, rushed to the chest and closed the lid with lightning speed.

- The chest is yours forever! roared Seth. - Die in this chest!

The demons tied the chest with straps, after which it was carried to the river and thrown into the Tanit estuary. The good ruler Ta-Kemet was buried by the water. The story of Osiris and Seth symbolized the struggle between good and evil. As has often happened before, the forces of evil acted with the lowest methods, hoping, thus, to achieve victory at any cost. Seth chose the same path, not suspecting that baseness and meanness would still not save him from defeat. But he will be defeated by the son of Osiris - Horus.
