Most of the so-called healing portraits are portraits of saints revered during their lifetime, but there are also images of people who are not saints among them. Among them are people who are not related not only to religion, but even to medicine.
CHARBEL - SAINT FROM LEBANON
Revered not only in Lebanon, but throughout the world, Saint Charbel during his lifetime was distinguished not only by great piety, but also by the ability to work miracles. However, fame came to this monk only after his death.
Charbel was born into a poor peasant family in the middle of the 19th century and died at the beginning of the 20th century. During his lifetime, he healed seriously ill people with the laying on of hands, determined human health at a distance, could control the behavior of poisonous snakes, stop a storm or, conversely, cause rain. When he died, his body was placed, according to custom, in a burial cave. A few weeks later, people who came here began to notice some kind of glow over Charbel's coffin and found that his body was not subject to decomposition at all. Moreover, after the prayers at the tomb of Saint Charbel, the sick recovered. After a while, the pilgrims noticed that even postcards with the image of Saint Charbel, which were distributed in large numbers as souvenirs, have healing properties, most surprising of all,that the healing effect was noted even for non-Christians, as well as for animals. Today Charbel is the most famous saint, whose portraits miraculously heal.
ICON "THE UNEUTHABLE BOWL"
This is the most famous icon depicting the Mother of God and the baby Jesus over the cup, later called "inexhaustible". For the first time, its healing effect was noted in 1878, when she helped a certain peasant who served a prayer service in front of an icon. It is known that this poor fellow suffered from hard drinking so much that his legs were taken away, but he could not stop drinking on his own, no matter how hard he tried. For several days the peasant prayed day and night in front of the icon, as a result of which not only all the manifestations of alcoholic polyneuritis disappeared from him, but he became an absolute teetotaler, stopped experiencing a harmful craving for drinking.

Currently, this icon is in the Vysotsky monastery in the city of Serpukhov. Trains of pilgrims still come to her, waiting for healing. Help is received not only by Orthodox Christians suffering from alcoholism, but also by people of other faiths, as well as those who are not baptized.
PHENOMENON VALERY SADYRIN
It would be wrong to believe that holy places with a healing effect exist only in Christianity - they are also in other religions. Moreover, the portraits of some people who do not identify themselves with any particular cult also have an amazing healing effect. An example is the phenomenon of the doctor Valery Sadyrin from Kharkov, whose photograph also helps with various diseases.
At first Sadyrin worked as an ambulance doctor, where, during his duty, paramedics and nurses jokingly said: “We are lucky today - with Sadyrin on calls and there is nothing to do. No need for any injections - just his presence makes patients feel better. " Subsequently, Sadyrin began to work in a targeted manner with a group of patients in need, conducting so-called "relaxing sessions" with them. Well, then he and those around him noticed that the patients to whom Valery gave his photograph at their request began to gradually recover, even without seeing the doctor firsthand.
Valery Sadyrin's effect was tested at the Kharkov Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Neurology and Psychiatry, not only on volunteers, but also on animals. As a result, a distinct positive effect of his portrait on a variety of pathological conditions was proved.
PORTRAITS OF THE PRESIDENT ALSO HEAL
As an incident, you can cite reports from newspapers about the healing effect of the portrait of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. This was discovered by his fellow countryman, pensioner Gennady Chuiko, who, applying the image of the president, cut out by him from the magazine, to the patient's body or "charging" water with it, noted the healing effect in conditions such as neuroses, headaches, insomnia and even impotence. The restless G. Chuiko also discovered a healing effect from photographs of other politicians, both Ukrainian and Russian.
HOW CAN THIS BE EXPLAINED?
The phenomenon of healing through images is primarily due to the effect of suggestion and self-hypnosis, which can be amplified many times over through advertising and propaganda. This is not only accepted by the supporters of alternative medicine, but also traditionally minded scientists. However, such an explanation alone is not enough, since in many cases healing occurs even when the patient, during visual or tactile contact with the portrait, does not know and does not know about its healing power, as well as when it affects animal diseases.
From the standpoint of eniology or alternative science, this phenomenon is explained by the layering of subtle energy in the portrait, constantly coming from space. As a result, the image becomes a teraphim, that is, a magical object that has healing or other positive effects on others.
One may ask why this energy cannot be received by people directly, "without intermediaries" in the form of a portrait?
The fact is that most people, by virtue of their mental structure and negative beliefs, who deny all this, are not capable of receiving a sufficient amount of psychic energy for recovery. After all, all diseases are, by and large, caused by a deficiency of energy coming from space. Teraphim, which can be not only pictures, but also some others, at first glance - ordinary things, transform energy inaccessible to many into "easily digestible".
Another question arises: why do not all portraits become teraphim?

There are two reasons. The first is when a person depicted in a portrait or icon, during his lifetime, could, like a teraphim, accumulate psychic energy, and then radiate it to other people. We are talking not only about saints or simply revered people, but also about psychics who have a powerful biofield from birth, or people who have developed this ability in themselves through training and experience.
Another reason is the impact of the collective biofield or egregor, which consists in the ideas of respect, reverence, reverence, which, in turn, turns this person into a source of psychic energy. In life, as a rule, these two reasons affect together, but, as a rule, one of the reasons prevails to one degree or another.
