Specialists representing the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences recorded a powerful electromagnetic pulse that came to Earth from space, which could be sent by aliens from a planet relatively close to us. The version that the RATAN-600 radio telescope was able to intercept a message from an alien civilization is now being tested by Russian scientists in cooperation with foreign colleagues.
The point from which the electromagnetic pulse at a wavelength of 2.7 centimeters is supposed to have arrived came from the vicinity of the star HD164595 in the constellation Hercules, located, by cosmic standards, practically next to us - at a distance of about 95 light years. In size, the star HD164595 is only 1 percent smaller than our Sun, and in other characteristics it also very much resembles it. To date, only one planet is known in its system - this is the exoplanet HD164595b, which belongs to the class of hot Neptune. It is 16 times heavier than the Earth and a year on it lasts about 40 Earth days.
To explain the appearance of the signal, the intensity exceeded the radiation of the pulsar by 10 times, natural reasons from the point of view of modern ideas about space have not yet been succeeded (although specialists have several theories of this kind). At the same time, scientists admit that it was really sent by an alien civilization, it is at a slightly higher level of technical development than modern mankind. It is assumed that a hypothetical civilization belongs to type I on the Karandashev scale, that is, it uses at least all the energy that its own planet can provide it. The second type according to this classification includes civilizations that are able to use all the energy of their planetary system. Naturally, the Karandashev scale is an exclusively hypothetical construction,since extraterrestrial civilizations and even just signs of life outside the Earth, scientists have not yet found.
An unusual signal was recorded on May 15, 2015, but it was very interesting first to Russian researchers, and then to specialists working in the SETI project, which includes various activities to search for extraterrestrial life. On September 27, 2016, a meeting of the project participants is to be held in Mexico, one of the central topics for discussion at which will be the impulse recorded by the RATAN-600 radio telescope.
Although serious experts around the world are quite unanimous in their skepticism about the news about flying saucers and other evidence of the "personal visit" of aliens, many scientists fully admit both the fact of the existence of alien civilizations and the likelihood that their representatives can send certain signals to space for contact with "brothers in mind". Supporters of such an assumption proceed from the fact that there are an incredibly many stars like the Sun and planets like the Earth in the Universe, which means that it cannot be ruled out that the same chain of events occurred on one of these planets as on ours, which would lead to the emergence of intelligent life.
