India has always seemed to Europeans too mysterious and mysterious country, it attracts lovers of mysticism for a reason, because in this country there are many places where you can get in touch with something transcendental, not amenable to ordinary logic. And there is one such place in the western part of India that is not even officially allowed to visit at night. In the state of Rajasthan, the ruins of the Bhangarh fort have been preserved, and if you come closer, you will see a sign on the main gate, which says for tourists that entry into the territory after sunset is prohibited.

The fort is located on the territory of an abandoned city, which was built in 1573, and then, when all residents left Bhangar, the government of India officially declared it a ghost town. At the same time, you can still see the temples of Hindu deities on the territory.

This fort is surrounded by legends, having learned which, it becomes clear why no one lives in this city. According to one of them, the city was cursed by a monk, who once told the ruler that if the shadow of one of the castles falls on his temple, the city will fall. The fort grew, and one day the shadow of one of the buildings still touched the monk's dwelling. A year later, enemies came to these lands, a war began, and almost all the inhabitants of the city died. The rest left him.

Another legend will appeal to young girls who believe in a prince on a white horse and dream of great love. So, love does not always bring happiness, and sometimes it leads to the destruction of an entire city. The princess Ratnavati Bhangarha once lived in this city, and an evil wizard fell in love with her. A black magician named Singhia understood that the princess was unlikely to agree to link her life with someone who practices witchcraft. He decided to cheat. He watched the maid and put a charm on the oil that she bought for the princess. When the princess touched the liquid, she would immediately fall in love with the sorcerer. However, Ratnavati found out what the wizard was up to, she broke the vial on the boulder. And then a huge stone rolled towards the sorcerer's dwelling and crushed it. However, before dying, the magician cursed the city. Well, then that very war broke out.

Having visited this fort, you will be surprised, because it seems that all the inhabitants have simply evaporated. Locals believe that the souls of those who died in that war live in this city. Buildings gradually collapse, and after sunset shadows come to the city. Tourists do not risk staying in this place in the evening or at night, because the darkness in the dead city does not bode well.
