As scientists note, with each subsequent year, certain types of animals will die. This is the conclusion reached by experts from the UN, they presented their forecasts at the conference about the threats to ecosystems in different parts of the world, reports UKROP.
By the end of this century, Africa will have lost about 50% of all its flora and fauna. Due to droughts, there will be a massive death of plants, fish and some animals that are not able to do without water for a long time. But the population, on the contrary, will increase: by 2050, the increase is expected to double (from 1.25 million to 2.5 million people).
Scientists also noted that 90% of corals in Southeast Asia will die in 30 years. This is due, first of all, to global warming, which cannot be stopped. It is also possible that the reservoirs will remain without fish due to industrial fishing.
In America, the animal mortality rate will be approximately 31% (maximum 40%). This will happen by 2050. More than 60% of the cultures and languages of America's indigenous peoples are expected to die out as well.
