Even in ancient times, there was an idea of rather complex forms of witchcraft, and the authors of works containing magical rituals remain unknown to this day. This kind of book took place in Ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire.
Many texts are attributed to the authorship of King Solomon. Legends describe him as a skilled connoisseur of magical sciences, able to charm not only people, but also creatures from other worlds, such as angels and demons.
One of his works is the "Key of Solomon", which, in particular, describes the conduct of special ritual ceremonies, in the center of which is the visible appearance of spirits, and it does not matter, good or evil. Spirits are summoned for very pragmatic purposes in order to acquire certain advantages for themselves: power, fame, money, knowledge.
The ritual was performed in three stages: meticulous preparation of the inventory, then preparation of the body and spirit of the magician, and, finally, the conduct of the ritual itself.
At first, the magician made special candles and consecrated the magical weapons necessary in each case, for example, a stick, sickle or sword. Moreover, this is not an easy occupation. For one of the rituals, the magician had to forge a sickle on his own, and this should be done exactly one hour after sunrise. It had to be red-hot three times and then placed in a mixture of herbal extract and magpie's blood.
In another case, it was required to build a stone altar on the bank of the river in the predawn twilight, sacrifice a rooster on it, then jump into the water, get ashore, dress in new clothes and go home without looking back.
If everything is done correctly, then you can proceed to the next stages and be closer to the fact that the spirits hear you and give you what you want. Having tuned in to receive the signal, the magician had to stand in a circle consisting of names and symbols that could protect him from the demon, burn a prepared candle and make certain movements with a weapon in his hands, while uttering a special spell.
