The Uri Geller phenomenon was first discussed in 1971. Under the gaze of the young Israeli, iron spoons easily bent and metal rings tore. He repaired a long and hopelessly broken clock, without touching it, with an effort of thought he stopped the cable car and even "slowed down" the famous English Big Ben for several minutes. Today we publish an interview that Uri Geller gave to our correspondent Yuri Gerasimov.

A dream come true

We all watch the TV show "Phenomenon" on the Russia TV channel every Friday with great interest. And I think with a certain amount of irony and regret: “only” 13 years have passed, and Uri Geller's dream of appearing on Russian television has come true. Back in 1995, in a conversation with me at his villa in Sunning Court (40 minutes from London), he said that he would like to come to Russia and appear on national television.

- I would like to demonstrate my ability to control consciousness. And at the same time - to teach Russians to use their power of consciousness, to awaken hidden abilities in them. After all, the consciousness of everyone can create such positive energy around a person that will help him achieve his goal and be capable of something that was not even supposed before.

Uri has a great relationship with Russia and considers it potentially the richest country in the world. In 1991 Uri came to Moscow for a few days and since then he has always dreamed of being here again. And now Uri Geller is on Russian screens.

Uri bent Gorbachev's will

Promotional video:

When I met with Geller, he told me about his participation in a story related to Russia.

- In February 1987, I was in Switzerland, where the Soviet-American disarmament negotiations were taking place, and received an invitation from the American Ambassador Max Kampelman to join their group. We agreed that I would be presented as a specialist in entertainment, although my task was to telepathically influence the head of the Soviet delegation, Yuli Vorontsov.

In a personal conversation with Vorontsov, I showed several experiments, presented my book and asked him to tell Gorbachev about our meeting. Vorontsov promised to do it. I don’t know how much my telepathic "bombardment" had an effect, but both sides in the negotiations came to an agreement. And the Sunday Times on May 3 published an article about the negotiations with the headline "Uri Geller Bend Gorbachev's Will."

Three theories

Now the "Geller effect" is recognized throughout the world. Scientists from many countries have explored his phenomenal abilities. Among them are Professor of Psychology Erik Meath-Tennecker (Austria), Professor of Physics Georg Egeili (Hungary), Dr. Elisabeth A. Rauscher (USA), physicist Wilbur Franklin (England), renowned rocket scientist Wernher von Braun (USA), - naval weapons Eldon Byrd (USA), physicist Harold Puthoff (USA) and many others.

Although the phenomenon is recognized by scientists, there is still no clear explanation of its nature. I asked Uri Geller how he himself explains his abilities.

- As for my abilities, they are much more complicated than just the power of consciousness, - answered my interlocutor. - I believe in God, the Higher Mind, in supernatural forces, flying saucers, which, by the way, I saw, was in contact with them and even took pictures. Therefore, I have three theories about my abilities: the first is a conductor of certain cosmic energies. Second, by the will of nature or God, I use more of my brain than other people. And the third, the most incredible, is that I am a messenger of another civilization. I'm leaning towards the first theory.

Sometimes objects suddenly start flying around me. They disappear and then appear in the most unexpected places. I and my loved ones are used to this. But when, on November 9, 1973, I suddenly moved from New York to the suburban area in a matter of seconds, all my friends were shocked. And I, of course, no less.

Teleportation

That evening I was in a hurry to go out with a girl, and suddenly it seemed to me that I was running not forward, but backward. And then I felt that I was being pulled up somewhere. I stopped feeling the weight of my body, closed my eyes for seconds, and when I opened them again, I saw that I was in the air and rapidly approaching the windows of some kind of veranda. One of them was covered with a mosquito net. I turned my shoulder forward, covered my face with my hands. Breaking through the net, I flew to the veranda and crashed onto a round table made of thick glass. I was shocked by all this. Thought I had broken my bones. But most of all I was struck by the fact that I recognized this veranda: I was with my friend Andriy Pukharich. I had just been in Manhattan, and after a few moments it is not known how I ended up in a house that was an hour away by car. Isn't it hard to believe it?

The possibilities of humanity are endless

Uri and I discussed the importance of unusual human abilities, in particular, telepathic, in our lives. And that's what he told me about it.

-I show people my telepathic experiences, first of all, so that they understand that they have the same powers and abilities. In a thousand years, the paranormal and telepathic abilities of people will seem to us as primitive as the actions of cavemen kindling a fire. The human race differs from all other creatures in its unique way and unprecedented speed of development. Today people are still alive who were born before the first airplane took off. They may even remember being told that the flight of an object heavier than air is scientifically impossible. We, of course, have forgotten the names of those scientists who claimed this. But we remember the names of Langley, Santos-Dumont, the Wright brothers, They were not afraid to give free rein to their imaginations and eventually made science fiction a reality.

It's the same with space travel. The most educated professors convinced us that there could be no question of this, just a year before the launch of the first Earth satellite.

In 1896, American Robert Garrett threw a disc 95 feet and won a gold medal at the first modern Olympic Games. And in 1960, another American, Alfred Orter, threw the disc twice as far. If we can develop physically and mentally so rapidly, overcoming giant distances in evolution in just a time equal to one human life, what lies ahead for us ?!

Is life possible without a body?

I foresee two development scenarios. Thousands of years will pass, and our bodies will gradually change. They will have less vegetation, arms and legs will become less strong, because we will not use them as effectively as now, heads will increase in size, especially foreheads, as the volume of our brain will increase, and perhaps we will reach such a state when the gyrus becomes much more important for survival than the limbs and internal organs. Moving in this direction even further, I see the future person without at all what we call the body today. We will open new ways to see without eyes, move without legs and prolong our lineage without using the way of our ancestors. In the end, we will cease to be men or women altogether, and will become only fields of consciousness of different charges, who will be able to travel infinitely in time and space!

The choice is in our hands

Second scenario. According to it, in two or three centuries we will be forced to leave our planet, making it completely uninhabitable, and start all over again somewhere in a new place. But only a small fraction of humanity will be able to escape from Earth. The rest will destroy both Nature and each other. Those who survived will adapt to the new environment and create their own civilization: But the sword of Damocles of the future will hang over them all the time: where will their evolution lead - to the Creator or to the next self-destruction? The same question is now facing us. Well, the choice is in our hands.
