What is pyrokinesis?

Pyrokinesis is a parapsychological term that refers to the ability to cause fire or a significant increase in temperature at a distance by the power of thought. A creature capable of pyrokinesis is called a pyrokinetic, capable of influencing matter with the power of thought. In addition, cases of unexpected and inexplicable spontaneous combustion of people are also considered pyrokinesis, when a living body turns into a handful of ash within a few seconds.

Cases in history

Interestingly, the flammable material next to the victim (bedding, clothing, or paper) was left intact.

• Thus, in the 18th century, the mysterious death of Countess Bundy of Kassena took place. All that was left of her was her head, three toes, and both legs in a heap of ash, which was 4 feet from the bed. There were no traces of fire on the floor or on the bed.

In the second half of the 19th century, doctors began to write about pyrokinesis. One of them, an associate professor at the University of Aberdeen, got acquainted with the works of colleagues and made sure that about half of the doctors consider spontaneous combustion of a person quite possible.

• Thus, in the report of a certain Dr. Bertholl to the Medical and Surgical Society, there is a report about a woman who burned down in her apartment on August 1, 1869. According to an eyewitness, the body looked like it had been in a smelting furnace. However, everything around was intact, only the floor burned out a little - just in the place where the corpse was. The victim did not utter a single cry, did not call for help, since the residents of the neighboring apartments did not hear anything.

• Even in the middle of the 20th century, the belief that a person could burn out from drunkenness was very strong. Colonel O. Arkhipov in his military-historical essay "In the Bryansk forests" tells about a strange incident, which he personally witnessed. During the Great Patriotic War, at one of the field airfields, a sick soldier was loaded into the back of an old lorry to be sent to the hospital. They said he drank something obscene called "chassis" - a fluid that was intended to fill the shock absorbers. And on the way, in front of the accompanying soldiers, the body of the victim suddenly burst into a blue flame. When the driver slowed down sharply, everyone jumped out of the body and ran scatteringly, and after a while they found the charred corpse of a fellow traveler in the truck. The strangest thing was that the greatcoat he was lying on did not catch fire. The incredible case was attributed to "spontaneous combustion when ingested by a flammable liquid."

Types of ignition

Over the past three centuries, pyrokinesis, including in the presence of witnesses, overtook hundreds of people, regardless of their gender and whether they were drunkards or teetotalers during their lifetime. It is rather difficult to deduce any regularity in the selectivity of objects for spontaneous combustion. Pyrokinesis is ubiquitous and merciless in any setting. Therefore, specialists can only register fresh facts and systematize where it manifested itself again. The American popular science magazine "Discovery" reports that over the past 12 years, the number of cases of pyrokinesis has almost doubled. Two types of ignition are noted: the transformation of the victim into ash and its sintering into a charred mass. In some cases, some part of the body is not touched by the flame. It has been established that during spontaneous combustion of human bodies, the temperature of the fire reached 3000 ° C.

Spontaneous combustion of people. Cases

• 1905 Winter - There are three strange fires in England. In the small village of Butlocks Het (Hampshire), the charred corpses of the Kylie spouses were found in one of the houses. Interestingly, neither the furniture, nor the curtains, nor the carpet, on which an elderly married couple suddenly caught fire, did not touch the fire. In Lincolnshire, a similar fire killed a farmer, and with him about 300 geese and chickens. A few days later, an elderly woman suddenly caught fire nearby.

• Billy Peterson (USA) caught fire when he was parking his car in a Detroit parking lot. When rescuers removed his charred body, it was discovered that the temperature in the car was so high that the parts on the dashboard were completely melted.

• 1956 - 19-year-old Mabel Andrews was dancing with her friend Billy Clifford at a dance floor in London and suddenly caught fire. Although Clifford and the people around her tried to help her, she died on the way to the hospital. According to Billy, there were no sources of fire nearby, and it seemed to him that the fire was coming out directly from her body.

• 1969 - Dora Metzel, sitting in her car on one of the streets of Luxembourg, suddenly caught fire and burned to the ground in a matter of seconds. Several people tried to help her, but to no avail. But when it was over, it turned out that the interior lining and seats of the car, unlike the Peterson case, were not damaged.

• 1996 - a naked girl jumped out of a motel room in Brisbane, Australia, screaming wildly. After she regained consciousness, she said that she came here for the weekend with her boyfriend. She went to bed, her boyfriend went to take a bath. And when he came out and lay down next to her, he suddenly caught fire and a minute later turned to dust.

• Most spontaneous combustion of people per capita was recorded in the small Austrian town of Loessach. There, locals flare up 18 times more often than in the rest of the world. In 2004 alone, there were 4 such cases. One of those who broke out was 9-year-old Helmut. The boy was teased by his peers because of being overweight, and once during such bullying in the schoolyard, the boy suddenly caught fire. The fire spread to the offenders standing next to him and took the lives of 7 more children, literally burned to the ground.

• 1993, spring - the inhabitants of the small Peruvian town of Orellano, who gathered in the church for Sunday service, witnessed a spectacle that shook them to the core. The priest, preaching the sermon, was in shock. His angry emotional speech, dedicated to the hopeless sinners, who awaited Gehenna of fire, caused a tremor among the believers, and they earnestly crossed themselves with the sign of the cross, offering prayers that this cup would pass from them.

Suddenly the sermon was interrupted by an inhuman outcry. Shouted the priest, who froze in an unnatural pose with his hands raised to the sky. Literally a moment later, the parishioners, numb with horror, saw a tongue of flame burst from his chest, and he himself turned into a pillar of fire. People rushed out of the church, knocking each other off their feet, and none of them saw what the investigators later discovered. On the ambo lay the whole and intact clothes of the priest, inside which a handful of ashes darkened - all that remained of the servant of God.

• 1998 - a resident of Madrid, Roberto Gonzalez, listening to a toast at his wedding, suddenly flared up and not even a minute had passed before he turned to ash. More than a hundred guests witnessed the incident. The fire did not touch anyone or anything else.

• 1999, August 24 - Jackie Park drove to pick up her mother, 82-year-old Agnes Phillips, who has Parkinson's disease, at the Chisalon Nursing Home in a suburb of Sydney. That afternoon, they drove along the Balgovni road to a nearby supermarket. After parking in front of the store, Jackie got out of the car for a few minutes to shop. When she returned, she saw smoke rising from the window of her car. With the help of passers-by, the elderly mother was pulled out of the car. The old lady was surprisingly calm and kept repeating, "Very hot, very hot." There were severe burns on her chest, neck and stomach. Agnessa died in the hospital a week later. The forensic examination found no traces of chemicals on the victim's body that could lead to a flame.

• In the archive of the Vitebsk region. the fire inspectorate, perhaps to this day, is kept the case on the death in 1973 of 15-year-old schoolboy Ruslan A. The boy flared up and in a second burned down in the courtyard in front of his mother. Neither his clothes nor objects in the vicinity were damaged by the fire. Ruslan's mother lost her mind from grief - the investigators recorded her testimony, but they did not take them seriously. Officially, the tragedy was explained by the fact that the boy was fond of chemistry and pyrotechnics and "died while testing homemade fireworks."

• 1980 - the instant incineration in the family of Old Believers (4 children, their parents and grandfather) in the Khabarovsk Territory in the documents in the case is held as an act of religious fanaticism. Although all the circumstances of death unambiguously indicate pyrokinesis. Many members of the Old Believers' community spoke to the investigators about the "fire of God, inside", sent as punishment for "lack of firmness in the faith." The Old Believers refused to cooperate with the investigation and after the closure of the case left the "lost place."

• The city of Krasnoyarsk - in front of dozens of witnesses, an activist of a local environmental organization flared up and burned down in a second. In a tiny note, the tragedy was presented as "an act of protest against the blatant environmental situation in the region," which was completely denied by both the comrades of the deceased and the witnesses of his death. The young man was waiting with flowers on the street corner for his acquaintance, quietly smoking a cigarette and in a few seconds turned to ash. His clothes, bag and even bouquet were not damaged at all.

• Sometimes the bodies of victims of pyrokinesis do not burn to the ground. In Mongolia, a local shepherd, Arzhanda, suffered a fire on a country road. The "black mannequin" was found in a sitting position. His whole body, head and arms were sintered into a solid resinous mass. But what is most surprising, the clothes of the unfortunate did not suffer from the fire. No traces of flame were found around either, and the air temperature was -15 ° C. The partner of the deceased was detained and charged with premeditated murder. When the investigator came to the prison, instead of the suspect, he found a pile of charred bones with partially preserved pieces of meat. No explanation could be found for this tragedy.

• 1960 November - On a country road near Pickville, Kentucky, the burnt bodies of 5 men were found sitting in free positions in a car parked on the side of the road. The investigator argued that there were no signs of any attempts by the victims to get out of the car.

• 1969 - Texas resident Michael Lifshin was found dead in his car. His face and hands were burned, but for some reason the fire did not touch his hair and eyebrows. Because his car was in the garage, the police decided that the unfortunate man had committed suicide by poisoning himself with exhaust gases. But the body was so hot that it burned your fingers.

• An absolutely fantastic incident occurred in the Canadian province of Alberta, when two daughters of the Melby spouses broke out at the same instant, being in different parts of the city.

Survivors

• At times, the "devil's fire" leaves its victims alive. 1985, May 25 - a young man Paul Hayes suddenly flared up on a London street and survived. “It was as if I was thrown into the oven,” says 19-year-old Paul about his impressions, “as if they were stabbing my hands with hot pokers. Her cheeks were hot. Ears were numb, chest boiled like a boiling kettle. It felt like even my brain was boiling. I wanted to run - but can you escape from the inner fire? " Self-control helped - Hayes fell to the ground and instinctively curled up into a ball. Half a minute later, the fire went out, and the young man went to the hospital with severe burns.

• A similar incident happened to the American pilot Gina Winchester. The woman was driving in a car when suddenly she was engulfed in fire. A companion who was driving tried to extinguish the flame, and the car lost control. A moment later, the car crashed into a post, and the fire escaping from Gina's body extinguished by itself. The woman received severe burns, but remained alive. “I have long struggled to find a logical explanation,” she told reporters. - I never smoked, the window was closed. Nobody could throw anything inside the car. In general, the car did not catch fire (the police searched for spilled gasoline in the cabin, but did not find it). When there was nothing else left, I remembered the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion."

• Another case of pyrokinesis, in which a person was left alive by fire, occurred in 1989 near Munich. 13-year-old Utah was playing the accordion when her father, Werner Rothke, heard the girl's desperate cry. He rushed to her and saw his daughter, engulfed in flames, rushing about the room. The girl's skin was burned 30%, and Werner himself received second-degree burns. Yuta later explained that as soon as she started playing the instrument, she was engulfed in fire from all directions.

Causes of spontaneous combustion. The opinion of scientists. Versions

Skeptics argue that to this day there is no openly published documentary evidence of the reality of the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion and pyrokinesis. This strange phenomenon runs counter to the teachings of classical biology, chemistry and physics. It is known that the human body consists of two-thirds of water and a significant amount of energy is required for combustion, which is not in a living organism. When burning the body of a deceased person in a crematorium, a temperature of 2000 ° C and a time of at least 4 hours are required. But even under these conditions, it is necessary to additionally crush the charred bones of the skeleton in order to turn them into ash. Thus, despite many examples, most scientists still consider the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion to be absurd. The artificial origin of pyrokinesis was also rejected - neither science nor technology is able to create a device today, causing a local outbreak of matter of a similar force.

Some scientists believe that the mysterious phenomenon of pyrokinesis is caused by the banal effect of ball lightning, the energy of which penetrates into the human biofield, leading to instant ignition.

The President of the Parapsychology Foundation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Andrey Li, among the theories of pyrokinesis, points to two main ones. The first of them is called the “human candle” hypothesis: the victim's clothing is saturated with human fat and can act as a wick in the event of an accidental fire from a match or cigarette. The second theory is static electricity fire. Under certain conditions, the body can build up enough charge to quickly and unexpectedly burst clothes. There are other incredible versions - for example, filling the body cavities with flammable gases with a poorly functioning liver.

Some scientists are trying to link the spontaneous combustion of people with their tense internal state. “It was noted that many of the victims were in depression or deep stress,” says parapsychologist V. Guzeev. - That is, the connection between spontaneous combustion and the mental state of a person arises. I do not exclude that this phenomenon is caused by the activity of the brain: the ignition occurs as a result of an unconscious spontaneous influence of thought. Thus, it turns out that spontaneous combustion is a kind of suicide.

Still, according to one curious version, the culprit of pyrokinesis is a special pyrobacterium that "eats" the sugar contained in the human body and produces volatile combustible substances - for example, alcohol. Then pyrokinesis can be explained as the combustion of an "alcoholized" organism from an imperceptible, accidental spark. This bacterium has not yet been discovered, but exists only in the form of a complex computer model.

Harugi Ito from Japan put forward a version that the cause of pyrokinesis is a change in the passage of time. In the normal state, the human body generates and radiates into space a certain amount of heat, but if for some reason the physical processes occurring in nature suddenly slow down sharply inside, and their speed remains constant on the surface of the skin, then the generated heat simply does not have time to radiate into space and incinerates a person.

A. Stekhin, candidate of technical sciences, offers his own version. As he believes, pyrokinesis is cold plasma combustion. “Three-quarters of a person consists of liquid formations, that is, of water. Free radicals in its molecules are able to “take” energy. It can be either solar energy or biological. In exceptional cases, it is released and a stream of quanta breaks out. Moreover, the external body temperature does not exceed 36 ° C, and the internal temperature reaches 2000 ° C, which explains the paradox mentioned in written sources: the body burns to ashes, but shoes, clothes, bed, etc. remain intact.

Finally, a number of scientists adhere to a very fantastic point of view, claiming that a thermonuclear reaction serves as a source of energy in a living cell. Under certain conditions, unknown energy processes appear in the cells of the body, similar to those occurring during the explosion of an atomic bomb. Such self-destructive processes do not go beyond the body and are not reflected in the molecules of neighboring matter - for example, on clothing or the upholstery of a car.

The French scientist Jacques Millon has been solving pyrokinesis for many years. He first encountered this phenomenon in psychiatric hospitals, where patients were held accused of attempting to commit suicide by self-immolation. But, as it turned out, the patients completely denied even the very idea of suicide. They talked about the unexpected spontaneous combustion of the body, described their feelings and fear of death.

Having closely studied this problem, Monsieur Milon received two additional education (physics and field physics) and put forward his own version of pyrokinesis, based on the existence of pyropol. It is known that there are various types of fields in nature - electric, magnetic, gravitational and, finally, biofield. Moreover, all types of fields interact with each other, and the most mysterious is the energy shell of a living being. Scientists to this day cannot explain why a healthy person's body temperature fluctuates by 0.5 ° C during the day, or why a sudden fever occurs during nervous stress.

There is another type of field in nature - the so-called pyropole, capable of heating protein matter. But not any, but only matter with a powerful biofield, that is, the human body. Then the daily temperature fluctuations are the result of pyrofield fluctuations around its average level. And the heat during nervous stress, the so-called thermoneurosis, is the result of the interaction of the pyropol with the weakened biofield of the subject. It is also known that the Earth's electric and magnetic field from time to time inexplicably gives out a powerful burst of its energy in a limited area of space.

The pyrofield behaves in the same way, which, during flashes, throws out narrow beams of energy, similar to the discharges of invisible lightning. Such extremes are deadly to humans. A person caught in an invisible beam flares up and burns out instantly. And the more powerful the biofield, the more delicious bait the individual becomes for the burning forces of nature. In turn, pyrofield does not affect inanimate objects (clothes, shoes, bed, car, etc.). It, like a fire brought to a puddle of alcohol on the table, burns out the alcohol, and the section of the table does not even heat up.
