In India, they found the remains of a creature that is surprisingly similar to dinosaurs, which officially became extinct 65 million years ago. And these remains are not fossilized parts of skeletons, but completely fresh bones, covered with pieces of flesh!
According to the Daily Mail, the body was found in the village of Jaspur, Uttarakhand state. The remains were found by an electrician who was cleaning an abandoned substation that was closed 35 years ago.
The remains confused everyone who saw them, since the creature does not resemble any known animal, except for a dinosaur. This dinosaur was very small, perhaps a cub, he ran on two strong hind legs and was obviously a predator. It looks like a dromaeosaurus or a deinonychus. The creature found is only 28 cm long.
Now the remains have been sent to scientists for identification and dating. Dr. Parag Madhukar Dukate says that so far no one knows what kind of animal it is, but it looks very much like a dinosaur. Scientists cannot say anything for certain until the test results come in.
Paleontologist Aaryan Kumar from the University of Delhi, in turn, categorically rejects the assumption that it could be a dinosaur. He is sure that they all became extinct 65 million years ago and their remains could not survive to this day with pieces of flesh on their bones.
However, in an interview with reporters, he admitted that outwardly the creature resembles a dinosaur from the theropod suborder. Theropods are carnivorous bipedal dinosaurs, the most famous of which is the tyrannosaurus. Deinonychus is also a theropod. Theropods could be giants like tyrannosaurus or very tiny like anchiornis, reaching a length of 30-40 cm and considered a possible ancestor of birds.
