Swedish police rescued a man who had spent two months in a snow-covered car
A man, about 45 years old, was trapped in a snow trap, presumably in November-December 2011. His car was found in the wilderness near the town of Umeå. Since mid-December, the hostage of the elements ate only snow and suffered from the cold - by this time the temperature approached 30 degrees below zero.
The man was found by accident: the snowmobile driver noticed the part of the car not covered with snow. He cleared the car window, saw that there was a man inside, and contacted the police. When the police arrived at the scene, they found a man in the car, lying in a sleeping bag. He was emaciated, could barely move or speak, but was nonetheless alive.
The rescued man was admitted to the hospital - as expected, he will soon be able to tell in detail both about himself and about the history of his captivity. It remains unclear how his car ended up under a snowdrift and why he could not get out of it.

Doctors have already declared this case unique: few people managed to survive without food for more than two or three weeks.
