Most people are not ready to see with their own eyes the ships of extraterrestrial civilizations that have arrived from other worlds in the sky. Animal instincts and fear still prevail in human behavior, especially in extreme situations, and they always accompany contacts of the 1st and 2nd degrees.
Supervising civilizations are aware of this, and try to work near the Earth so as not to disturb the quiet life of people. In my opinion, human fear arises from ignorance and lack of any knowledge about aliens. When the enlightened time comes, the human mind will finally prevail over instincts.
In the case when the spacecraft of the VTS need a rapprochement in the air with the aviation and space technology of earthlings (to fulfill observation or measuring purposes), but the VTS do not want to reveal themselves, and even more so, they do not want a conflict situation, they use various methods of camouflage or distraction attention.
At the level of the space orbits of our satellites and the orbiting ISS, masking of alien spacecraft is used as a forced measure, since visibility in open space is very good, and even at a distance of 100 km flying objects (UFOs) are clearly visible to earthlings.
Bright light illumination in the form of flashing colored lights only speeds up the detection of these objects by our astronauts. In such cases, aliens use a variety of disguise methods. I will list these methods:
1. Installing the smoky cover. In the conditions of the Earth's atmosphere, the spacecraft is enveloped in an artificial dense foggy cloud. Objects disguised as a “cloud”, however, can be calculated. The first thing that catches your eye is the unusual shape of a strange "cloud" - a well-defined cloudy "lens", a cigar-shaped "cloud". Light and light rays can break through from within these strange clouds.

Usually this method is used by medium and underdeveloped civilizations, which have heavy technical ships and a dense material manifestation in our world. It is most difficult for them to disguise technical devices.

2. Control and change of reflected-refracted radiation. These ships can be perfectly visible by simple observers, they can be observed by the military services visually, but the radars of the radar station do not record these objects, that is, the radio devices do not pick up the reflected signal. For air defense services, these objects remain invisible, as it were. This method of "blinding the radars" is usually used by average civilizations.
A variation of this masking method is the effect on optical reflection - the refraction of visible light, which can be accompanied by optical effects of distorting the visual perception of an object.
If the hull of the ship begins to reflect the entire visible range of light, then the ship will be covered with a mirror shell, which will hide the appearance of the ship at least from visual observation, its hull will merge with the surrounding background due to the specular reflection. But the anomalous energy emanating from the walls of the ship will still be recorded by special devices. For example, thermal sensors in the IR spectrum can indicate the presence of such a camouflaged ship.

3. Ships are often covered with an energetic holographic shell, which completely hides the actual appearance of the aircraft. Sheath color is whitish, pearly, yellowish.
