The Lost World was discovered by British scientist and traveler Julian Bayliss.

So on the top of Mount Liko in the northern part of Mozambique there is a site, nicknamed by scientists "The Lost World". It was first spotted by satellites. A scientific expedition has completed its research only now: a humid tropical forest is located at the very top of a round mountain, which only experienced climbers could get to.
A striking discovery of a secluded forest was made by the British scientist and traveler Julian Bayliss. Interestingly, he first discovered a strange, isolated from the outside world on satellite maps.
The Briton has assembled an expedition of experienced scientists to study the "Lost World" in Mozambique. A team of biologists and climbers explored an area of tropical rainforest located at the top of a basalt mountain.

Previously, Bayliss collected the necessary information about the area. Preparation for the trip lasted for five years. During this time, the researcher found out that none of the local residents knew about the flora and fauna of the Liko basalt mountain.
Mount Liko rises 700 meters above the savannah. Imagine a territory where all life has developed without any human influence. It is literally an opportunity to see an alternate history of the planet. What could have been if the person did not exist.
It is known that scientists were able to discover several new species of butterflies on the top of the mountain. And a couple more curious animals.
The expedition is far from over and there will probably be many more discoveries. The processing of the collected materials will take several months, after which the results of the study will be known to the public.
It is worth noting that Julian Bayliss has been studying surfaces for many years. In 2005, a scientist discovered the Mabu array using the Google Earth application. After 7 years, the Briton discovered a rock ledge protruding among the volcano's crater.
According to the researcher, "The Lost World" is similar to the description of Arthur Conan Doyle in the work of the same name.
