Events like these are happening around the world with alarming frequency. We have already written about the Atoyak River in Mexico and about a lake in China, the owner of which has suffered significant losses. The reasons are very different - sinkholes and faults, seismic activity, hurricane. But sometimes rivers and lakes disappear for no apparent reason.
A large body of water mysteriously evaporated overnight in Patagonia (southern Chile), twenty-seven kilometers from the city of Puerto Aisen. Lake Risko, with an area of 14.8 square kilometers, was a favorite spot for recreation and fishing.
No one can explain the reason for his disappearance. The before and after photographs taken on May 30, 2016 were disseminated by the local media. Before an incomprehensible incident, it had a depth of 130 meters and in just one night turned into a dehydrated territory. Why?
There is still no information available. The activity of the volcanoes was at the same level. Although some unofficial sources name a number of reasons. The fact is that on one side of the lake there is a tectonic shear boundary - a line that stretches along the southern part of Chile for as much as 1200 km. Small earthquakes regularly occur along this border, but that night there was not the slightest vibration that could lead to the evaporation of water. In 2007, there was a similar disappearance of the lake in the same Patagonia, but then the water flowed into a karst funnel. If Risko went underground, then some kind of funnel or rift would also remain on its surface - but nothing of the kind could be found.
Another explanation, less popular, is the El Niño climatic phenomenon. The average level of precipitation on the territory of the lake this year was only 34% of the required norm. Of course, this could lead to a significant decrease in the water level, but not to its complete disappearance, and even in such a negligible period of time.
So there was no seismic activity, no strange or loud noises, no significant changes in weather conditions. What then became the reason? Ufologists claim that the water was pumped out by aliens. An example is the case in Melbourne in 2006: hundreds of witnesses observed UFO aerobatics when an object stole water. In 1980, an Australian farmer reported that a plate had “drank” 32 tons of water from his water tank in one night. Last year, a pilot from California photographed a UFO hovering over a lake, with a translucent "spoke" from the water stretching from the flying saucer to the surface of the reservoir. When the UFO flew away, the "spoke" completely disintegrated.
According to another eyewitness to a similar case, a resident of Puerto Rican fisherman Angel Encarnacion, everything happened like this: “From the bottom, from the very center of the“plate”, a wide greenish sheaf of light was emanating, focused on the surface of the ocean. What struck us most was that the object was pulling water from the ocean. We saw how the water rises and enters the bottom exactly where the green light comes from. It was a powerful column of rising water. We saw neither fish nor anything else - only clean water. And all this - without a single sound!.

Meanwhile, in Chile, locals, fishermen and birds are waiting not so much for an explanation as for the return of water. The fish, unfortunately, will not wait any longer.
