Death Valley in Yakutia is one of the most mysterious places on Earth. Ufologists believe that there is an alien base there, which protects us from threats from space.

It looks like a description of the next "cursed lands" from bad fantasy. But it is in such colors that eyewitnesses paint the northern valley of the Yakut river Vilyui. Even in time immemorial, the elders of the Tungus and Yakut tribes forbade their hunters to appear in these places, since everyone who appeared here soon went to "graze the heavenly deer."

It is not possible to trace the origins of the legend about the terrible valley. For the first time it was written down and given wide publicity by the naturalist, explorer of Siberia and the Far East Richard Maack in 1877 in his work "Vilyui District of Yakutia". His narration was very restrained and concerned primarily the mysterious giant metal "cauldrons".
“In Suntara, I was told that near the top of Vilyui there is a river Algy Timirnit ('The Big Cauldron Drowned'), which flows into Vilyui. Not far from its shore, in the forest, there is a huge cauldron made of copper; only one edge protrudes from the ground it, so the actual size of the boiler is unknown, although they say that there are whole trees in it,”Maak said.

Getting into this wilderness is not an easy task in our time, and there was no question of equipment for the expedition in the second half of the 19th century. Nevertheless, stories about mysterious structures of unknown origin in the valley of the Vilyui River and its tributaries leaked into the world from time to time. These were testimonies of reindeer herders and hunters, retellings of old-timers and other dubious sources.
Not all that is gold …
The most notable of them is a letter from a certain Mikhail Koretsky, kept in the archives of the National Library of the Republic of Yakutia. Between 1933 and 1949, he visited Death Valley three times, hoping to find gold here, "not expecting a robbery and a bullet in the back of the head at the end of the season." He claims to have seen at least seven of these "cauldrons".
“All of them seem to me completely mysterious: firstly, the size is from six to nine meters in diameter. Secondly, they are made of an incomprehensible metal. The fact is that even a sharpened chisel does not take the "cauldrons" (they tried it, and more than once) The vegetation around the "cauldrons" is abnormal - it does not at all look like what grows around. It is more lush: large-leaved burdocks, very long vines, strange grass - one and a half to two times taller than a human being,”Koretsky wrote.
He did not see any rooms mentioned in the Yakut legends in these "cauldrons". After spending the night in one of them, none of his comrades got sick or died - except that one completely bald after a couple of months. Trivia.

Since the 70s, the Yakut Valley of Death came to the attention of Soviet ufologists, and later esotericists. Already in the 2000s, the Czech explorer Ivan Mackerle went to look for the Vilyui "boilers". Before leaving for Yakutia, the fortune-teller predicted imminent death for the Czech. Survived. But one step away from the goal, he got so sick that the expedition had to urgently turn off incessantly. The only thing that Matskerele and his comrades have achieved is that they have determined the GPS coordinates of the "boilers".
Later, an expeditionary group headed by Evgeny Troshin went to Yakutia in search of "boilers". I found a lot of interesting things, but not "boilers", despite the coordinates provided by the Czech. However, do not rush to write off the riddle of Death Valley from the accounts. According to the most conservative estimates, the length of the chain of "boilers" is about 200 kilometers. It's like looking for a copper ring in a haystack.
Rockets of the past
The toponyms and hydronyms speak in favor of the reliability of information about the "boilers". The tributaries and interfluves of the Vilyuy bear such names as Olguydah ("There is a boiler here"), Halduz ("Iron house"), Ataradak ("A very large three-sided iron fort"), the already mentioned Agly timirnit ("The big cauldron drowned"), Olguy ("Boiler"), etc. The Yakut epic Olonkho and other legends, on the basis of which ufologists have built a general picture of the appearance of the Valley of Death, according to local beliefs, indirectly in favor of the veracity of the existing evidence.
In short (and the format of the article does not allow more), then after the fall of a certain celestial body, accompanied by a roar and fire, a giant "iron house" appeared on the scorched earth. Whoever approached him did not return. There were also other unknown structures of a smaller size, which it was impossible to get into.

Several times the structure "came to life", shooting fireballs into the distance, and once the explosion destroyed the entire neighborhood. Those who survived spread the legend, and their descendants imposed a strict ban on the appearance of the "iron house" and smaller "cauldrons".
Alien graveyard or war of the worlds
Approximately the same beliefs exist in our time among the inhabitants of Gorny Altai and the Black Lands of Kalmykia far from civilization. Here, accompanied by thunder and fire, mysterious objects also appear, and people who dare to approach them soon die in agony.
Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic numerals are unmistakably guessed in the symbols on these objects. These are fragments of rockets launched into space from Baikonur. And Yakutia is one of the areas where such debris can fall.
Only now the evidence of "boilers" appeared long before the beginning of human space exploration. This similarity allowed ufologists to talk about the extraterrestrial origin of the mysterious objects of the Valley of Death, the "UFO graveyard" and not even just about the fall of an alien ship, but about a whole battle in near-earth orbit between representatives of several highly developed civilizations.

According to another version, the objects in the Yakut Valley of Death are uninhabited, but active alien bases. With their help, some higher beings protect the Earth from cosmic threats, such as the Tunguska meteorite, which was allegedly "knocked down" from one of these "cauldrons". Proponents of this theory call the Yakut objects part of the general defense system, which also includes underwater structures near Crete (not functioning) and Easter Island (in full combat readiness).
