Each of us has seen photographs with mysterious silhouettes. Someone believes that this is a film defect, when it comes to old photographs, someone believes that the ghosts in the photo were added using Photoshop, and someone believes that the camera can actually capture otherworldly forces.

1. A ghost in an Australian cafe
Dan Clifford, the owner of a vintage teahouse, was shocked when he saw a dark female silhouette in a closed cafe. This is a snapshot from an indoor camera. Then the figure disappeared abruptly. According to Clifford, who believes in ghosts, experts checked the recording and were unable to explain the phenomenon.
At first Clifford thought it was a thief. But when he looked closer, he saw that the figure was transparent. He could look right through her. Then she disappeared. The camera that was recorded has motion sensors, so it turned on in the middle of the night. The owner of the cafe also said that his employees told about strange incidents in the cafe: someone listened to voices, once they saw how the chairs began to move by themselves.

2. Ghost on the stairs at the National Museum of Greenwich, UK
A former clergyman in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, took his famous photograph in 1966. He just wanted to take some pictures of the beautiful spiral staircase from the Royal House, which is the National Museum of Greenwich (England).
However, after development, the photograph showed a blurry figure of a man climbing a ladder, holding onto the railing with both hands.
Experts, including several experts from Kodak Corporation who studied the original negative, concluded that the image was not fake.
They say that sometimes other people see figures of people, and even hear footsteps on the stairs.
3. The ghost of a lord in his favorite chair, UK
In 1891, after the Lord's carriage capsized, he died. The photographer set up his camera in the lord's library with the shutter of the camera lens open for one hour while everyone else was nearly four miles from home at the funeral of Lord Combermere.
After developing, everyone immediately noticed in the picture the outline of the head and hands of a person sitting in a chair. It has been observed that the ghost is very similar to the late lord.
4. Monk of Newby Church, UK
Also known as the "spirit of Newby Church", it has manifested itself in the Church of Christ the Comforter in North Yorkshire. The picture shows the silhouette of a man, disproportionately tall, with a face covered by a bag. The ghost probably wanted to cover up the leprosy marks on his face.
Skeptics argue that the photo is nothing more than a joke played out by one of the priests who persuaded his friend to put a bag on his head. By overlaying one image on another, a similar effect was obtained.
5. The ghost of Amitville, USA
In November 1974, 23-year-old Ronald DeFeo Junior shot and killed his parents and four siblings in his home at 108 Ocean Avenue in Amitville, New York.
Two years later, professional photographer Gene Campbell joined a group of famous ghostbusters Ed and Lorraine Warren. They decided to spend the night in one of the scariest places in the world - the Amitville House of Horrors. Throughout the night, Ed and Lorraine tried to contact the spirits in the house. All this time the photographer was shooting.
In 1979, George Lutz, the owner of the house, showed the world the pictures taken by the photographer. One of them clearly shows the ghost of little John DeFeo - one of the children killed in the house.
Skeptics claim that the photo shows a completely living paranormal researcher Paul Bartz, who was a company of colleagues that night.
6. Ghost of Lady Brown, UK
This image has become one of the most famous in the circle of paranormal researchers. It was made in England at Reinheim Hall in 1936. When Andrew Shira and Captain Hubert S. Provand photographed the house, Shira noticed a strange translucent figure sliding down the stairs. Then a version appeared that this was a photograph of the ghost of Lady Townsend, which was closed in this house, and she spent many years there until her death.
7. Ghost at St Botolph's Church, UK
This ghostly figure of a woman was photographed by Chris Brackley in a church in 1982. In reality, he did not see anything suspicious, at the time of filming there were three people in the room, and none of them went up to the attic. After examining the photographs, experts recognized a recently deceased person as a ghost.
8. Ghost of the Traveler, Australia
The strange figure in the photograph is holding something that looks like a camera. In the process of analyzing the frame taken on film, experts came to the conclusion that the captured figure cannot be the result of a double exposure of a real person. The picture was taken in 1959.
9. Ghost in the woods, Scotland
Photos can be scary. The fact is that this smoky phantom has eyes sparkling with an ominous light and a mouth wide open, as if in a silent scream. The photo was taken in 1999 by a Scottish taxi driver whose car broke down at night near the forest. While waiting for the tow truck, the driver whiled away the time, photographing dark trees near the road, and received pictures of a real ghost.
10. Lady in White, UK
Peter Burfelot visited Worstead Church in England with his wife, and when she sat down to pray, the husband decided to photograph his companion. In the developed image, someone else suddenly appeared right behind the woman's back! According to local legend, the Lady in White always joins the praying parishioners of this church, sitting down as close as possible to the believers.
