An article about the fact that the underground structures of our civilization can be mistaken for something ancient and mysterious. But they are being discussed, trying to figure out: is it really the handiwork of our technologies. I propose to look at an interesting fact, where on the Californian coast the ocean washed away the coast and exposed some columns:
At first glance and from a distance, these columns are very similar to antique ones. But this is California and nothing ancient has been found here. The fact that they are completely covered by the soil indicates a flood. But as always, you need to carefully consider every detail in order to understand whether it is a sensation or a combination of circumstances and conditions.
The source under the photos (on the English-language forum) says about several assumptions. One of them says that these are bored piles, poured to strengthen the coast after the construction of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay.

Perhaps the hotel guests were not satisfied with the descent to the water through the stones and the hotel managers allowed the ocean to continue eroding the shore.

Then, logically, thousands of years ago, land stretched towards the sea for kilometers from this place? Or maybe this part of the land with loose sedimentary rocks was formed quite recently? It seems that the mountains on the horizon are the bedrock. And all this soil, where the buildings are located along the coastline, was once carried away by mudflows. They are washed away by the ocean.

Perhaps, according to the project, they wanted to locate the hotel close to the coast, but after the foundation was poured, they realized that the erosion rate is very high and the hotel could be destroyed in a few years. As is clear, there is nothing ancient in this. If there were any very ancient stone structures in this place, then they were destroyed by the flows that we see in the form of deposits along the coastline. But an element of mystery is present in the photos below:

And a little to the side, at the Ritz-Carlton, there is already clay and sand. The author showed the walled up grottoes on the shore. Which also looks strange and mysterious.
