The real age of this ancient stone circle is not known, but its beautiful view cannot but impress. The Brodgar Ring is part of the Neolithic monuments in the Orkney Islands (Scotland), but the extraordinary beauty and history covered with mystical secrets undoubtedly make this attraction special.

The huge stones were erected in the form of a ring between 2500-2000 BC. However, the purpose of building the ring is still a mystery. Researchers believe that the ring could have been used for rituals that were definitely associated with the processions that took place near the ceremonial ring of Stennes stones.

Initially, there were about 60 stones located at the same distance from each other, but most of the stone spiers have been destroyed or lost over the centuries. Again, where the stones of such a large size could have disappeared remains a mystery.

Today there are only 27 stones left. Their height varies from two to five meters, while all the stone spiers form a circle with a diameter of almost one hundred meters.

During archaeological excavations, no other artifacts were found at the site, so the likelihood of finding some other objects here remains low. In addition, the purpose of the construction of the ring is unknown. The name "Bjorn" has been found on some of the stones, but this is of little help in solving the mystery of this place.
