The world famous British scientist James Lovelock, who was the first to discover the harmful effect of chlorofluorocarbons on the ozone layer of the planet, shocked the public with his statements more than once.
The most widely known is his proposal not to fight climate change due to the fundamental inability of humanity to change anything on such a scale.
In his book on a journey into a climatic future, the author urged humanity to "stop the offensive and go on to a sustainable defense." The introduction of renewable energy sources, he called a waste of time, and saving the planet - "a stupid, extravagant, romantic, idealistic occupation that lies beyond our capabilities."
Assuming that humanity will not listen to him and will continue to waste energy on a knowingly losing fight, Mr. Lovelock gave a separate piece of advice to his compatriots: “Great Britain is no longer a world power. We must leave the grand schemes to the United States, Japan and China. British money should not be spent on fighting climate change, but on adapting to it."
However, the author of books on climate change is not worried about the future of humanity. He believes that biological life forms in the future will give way to computers. He called the "move" of many people from the real world to the world of social networks the first harbinger of future reality.
