Sibal Island, Romblon. Farmers on this isolated island in the central Philippines report that mysterious killers, believed to be werewolves, attack farm animals during the nights before the full moon, sucking blood and taking away vital organs such as the liver and heart.
Sibala Mayor Lemuil Cipriiano said more than 200 goats have been killed in the past two years, according to Manila Standard Today. Their carcasses were found scattered in an open field. The animals bore characteristic marks: squeezed necks and gaping wounds in the abdomen.
“This ongoing 'goat carnage' has taken place every time the full moon begins since 2012. Until now, more than 200 goats have been killed by these terrible and secret killers,”said Cipriano.

It is clear that if this happens in flight, then a big "splash" will happen and the broken body will spread out on a hillock. However, these confusion of concepts are not surprising. The word "aswang" is often used as a general term for all kinds of evil spirits of Southeast Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia), which, in addition to the mentioned Manananggal, also includes Penanggalan, and a number of other equally attractive characters. To distinguish aswanga proper from them, it is sometimes called Tik-tik (or Wak-wak). This sound is said to be heard while the long tongue of the aswangi is pumping the victim's blood through it. There is also aswang-zegben (Zegben or sigbin). Here opinions differ, some say that this feral form of aswangi (such as a marsupial devil or chupacabra), others argue that it is her companion of a familiar type.
So, in any case, aswanga is a creature of the night. During the day, they are just quiet people working in some butcher's shop. Or at the slaughterhouse. At the same time, their true essence behind the daytime mask of modesty can be recognized in several ways and without waiting for the coming of night. The first, apparently, is universal - bending over to look at the person in the gap between his legs. The second - also I will not say that it is completely original: in his pupils a person is reflected upside down.
At night, they use this method - they take a bottle of coconut oil, mixed with the stems of some plants under prayers, and carefully observe the contents. When the aswanga approaches the house, the oil in the bottle seems to boil. It will bubble until the aswanga is far away from the house.
As a means of fighting aswanga, various methods are proposed: from traditional silver, garlic and salt, which are dangerous for all evil spirits, to sperm, which causes inflammation in aswangi.
On the whole, it turns out that aswanga is a poorly studied object. However, the following facts do not raise doubts: firstly, aswangs are not undead or afterlife; secondly, their werewolf has no connection either with infection, or with heredity, or with the lunar phases; thirdly, aswangi is certainly an interesting phenomenon in Southeast Asia.
