They all resembled people in addition, only they had practically no necks and a heel - lighter than the body. They were people, only small, hairy, with shaggy heads pulled into their shoulders

This story was told by a former military intelligence officer.

“In 1990 I was“on a business trip”in Afghanistan. In April, a reconnaissance group, consisting of six officers, carried out a mission in the Pamir highlands at an altitude of 4.5 thousand meters. During the day - plus 10 degrees, and at night frost to minus 20. We had to climb the pass. On the way there was a very steep slope of the upper end of the ridge, about 200 meters high. At a height of 35-40 meters from the base of this slope, there was a scarp similar to a terrace, hardly noticeable from below.

The head of the group sent me to climb there to see if it was possible from her to further direct, without detour, ascent to the pass? I scrambled to the terrace over the rocks, and my comrades stood below and from time to time gave advice. Finally, I climbed to the edge of this ledge and saw that something like a horizontal path begins from there. Rising from all fours to my full height, I simultaneously stepped onto this narrow path. And the first thing that I saw in front of me was some incomprehensible, fur-covered creature that looked like a bear and at the same time like a man. Out of surprise, I did not even have time to see him properly, but I managed to notice that it was a male. In fright, I pushed him hard with my hands in the face (or muzzle) and chest. The face of the "man" was completely hairless. The strange creature instantly turned around and ran on two legs to run across the terrace. I had a Stechkin pistol on my belt, but I did not even remember about it, so the situation did not fit into any framework. I was just dumbfounded. However, I think I screamed in fright.

This short scene was watched by my comrades, who were standing below, only 35-40 meters away from me. A moment after the beast or man, who had collided with me, jerked in the opposite direction, on the left a whole "gang" of the same humanoid creatures overgrown with wool escaped from the cleft in the rock. Just as silently, they quickly ran a short section of the trail and disappeared among the stones.

After another half a minute we saw them climbing an almost steep slope to the pass. The "guy" I pushed was the tallest among them, about 150 cm tall. I managed to count eight individuals. Half of them are children of different ages. All are covered with tough, rock-colored, gray-brown hair. I managed to feel that she was tough when I pushed the creature that appeared in front of me. They all resembled people in addition, only they had practically no necks and a heel - lighter than the body. They were people, only small, hairy, with shaggy heads pulled into their shoulders.

In a matter of minutes, a scattered group of these strange creatures overcame a very steep slope at least 150 meters high. It is noteworthy that young children were dragged by males, pushing and forcing them to hold onto rocks.

Two males had two cubs. The male took them one by one by the collar and, lifting them up, as if glued them to the rock above him. Then he climbed a meter himself and again repeated the same with the cubs. The cub's task was only to firmly grasp the rock ledges with the fingers and toes. The women were without burden.

All the while they climbed, my comrades looked at them through binoculars. The creatures moved along the slope not like people do, but like monkeys, legs and arms wide apart. They even looked like spiders. Everything happened in absolute silence and very quickly. At least we haven't heard anything.

When we tried to follow them along the same path, we quickly realized that we couldn't do without climbing equipment. To save time, it was more profitable to bypass the spur of the ridge and climb to the top along the opposite, gentle slope.

After examining the terrace, we found a place from which a family of wild people jumped out. It turns out that they were hiding in a shallow cave, the floor of which was completely covered with bird feathers, bones and horns of mountain goats. It was evident that this brethren had repeatedly stopped here and had a meal.

Everyone experienced fear!

In discussing the situation, we came to the conclusion that the savages who were sitting in the cave heard me echoing with the comrades below. They believed that no one would ever go up to their terrace, therefore, perhaps, they had never seen people. The leader went to the edge of the terrace to find out what kind of sounds were coming from below, and at the turn of the path he suddenly bumped into me.

In our group there were six officers, professional army intelligence officers, people who are difficult to frighten with anything. But everyone noted that they experienced fear at the sight of these human beasts.

Refusing to further direct the ascent to the pass, we bypassed the spur of the ridge and three hours later climbed it from the opposite side. And there we again saw that group of wild people wandering already near the top. But the distance between us was so great that we could only observe them through binoculars.

Conversation with the superiors

When we returned from the assignment and told the superiors about the unusual incident, we were asked:

- Were they people?

- Yes, their whole appearance said that they were people, only small ones.

- You say they were naked?

- Yes, everyone, including children.

- You guys are kidding! At an altitude of 4.5 thousand meters, in April, at the edge of eternal snows, where the frost is minus 20 at night, naked people with children? Maybe they were animals, since you say that they are covered with wool?

- Yes, they were probably monkeys. Only people are very similar …

- You jokers, however! Monkeys in the Pamirs, at this height and at this

temperature? Have you seen Babu Yaga with Koshchey the Immortal there?

Since the authorities had other, more serious problems than studying mountain hominids, that was all.

A month later, also in the mountains, at night, when our entire group was asleep, someone unknown, possessing superhuman strength, tore the tarp of my backpack and stole biscuits, crackers and soup concentrates. I broke the packages beforehand, apparently, tasting their contents. Canned food cans and cartridges were not touched. We found absolutely no traces of teeth or claws. It happened so quietly that no one heard anything."

From time to time, there are reports in the press from Afghanistan about encounters with Bigfoot living in mountain caves. There are mountains that are literally pitted with multi-tiered passages. Savages in groups at night penetrate the villages of Afghan peasants and steal food. It turns out that this is not news for a long time.

“These sons of darkness who have exchanged day for night and night for day, it seems to me, are not strangers to us. These have been known from the time of the Plinievs by their name. They walk on two legs, just like us. Hiding in the caves during the day. At night they clearly see, they steal from people everything that they come across. They have no speeches, so according to the statement of some writers they cannot utter anything. (Carl Linnaeus. Translation by I. Trediakovsky. 1777)

From this quote it becomes clear that wild people, who "are not strangers to us", have been known "since the time of the Plinievs." And Pliny the Elder, a Roman writer and scientist, lived in the years 23-79 from the birth of Christ. This suggests that for 1700 years, from Pliny to Linnaeus, the snowmen were known. And they even had names, each nation has its own. Before the establishment of Soviet power in the North Caucasus, every inhabitant of a mountain village knew that "Almas" could give birth to a "modern man." This was attested by the scientist Porshnev, who described in detail the savage Zana, who gave birth to four completely normal children from the inhabitants of the mountain village. This woman was caught in a mountain forest at the beginning of the 20th century.

In the languages of various peoples of the world, the word that is called the savage is translated as "man". But after the revolution, science began to stubbornly deny the existence of this intermediate link in human evolution.
