Sahamian image (Sajama Lines) consists of thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of lines 1-3 meters wide, the length of which reaches 18 kilometers! The drawing covers an area of almost 7,500 square meters, about 15 times larger than the famous Nazca Lines. Despite its grandiose size, this phenomenon is still almost unexplored. Until recently, until satellite technology appeared, this was impossible, since images of this scale can only be studied from a great distance.

The lines turned out to be stunningly accurate geometric lines despite their length, natural obstacles, and rugged terrain. Until now, there are no versions about the method of their creation, but it is most likely that the drawings were created by the labor of countless generations of an extinct prehistoric people.

The purpose of the Sahamian lines also remains a mystery. Perhaps they were landmarks for travelers, according to another version, they are associated with ancient burials, and the astronomical purpose is not excluded.

Often kilometers-long, perfectly straight lines form rectangular markings on the ground.

A group of archaeologists from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) discovered in Bolivia a series of geoglyphs - gigantic drawings visible only from the air and reminiscent of the famous and remaining mysterious images of the Peruvian Nazca desert.

Found in the Sahama Natural Park in western Bolivia, these drawings are larger than the undeciphered Nazca lines in southern Peru, which date back to 200 BC. - 650 AD

On an area of 22 thousand sq. km, 16 times larger than the Nazca desert, scientists have counted more than 400 images drawn with lines 1-2 meters wide and in some cases up to 20 km long.

According to archaeologists, 436 roads, marked by these lines in the Bolivian desert, may be associated with the Andean cosmogony, RIA Novosti reports. In any case, the Nazca lines are most often associated with astronomy or religious ceremonies of the ancient inhabitants of America. Although some still believe that the images and lines of the Peruvian desert are of extraterrestrial origin.

In Bolivia, archaeologists have not yet had time to make field measurements and cannot yet determine the time of the appearance of the drawings.
