Everyone knows Goliath, Hercules, Saturn, Cyclops - giants of legends and myths. But were there really giants, about whom the legends of many peoples of the world speak? There were! Moreover, they almost survived to this day, and maybe …

Fernand Magellan, a Spanish navigator, became famous for the first ever voyage around the world. However, this was not entirely true. It began with the fact that Magellan, in search of a passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, crossed the equator, ended up in the Southern Hemisphere and ended up near unknown shores (now these are the lands of Argentina).

Winter was coming, Admiral Magellan's fleet of five ships stood in the inhospitable bay of San Julian. A riot broke out, Magellan brutally dealt with its instigators. But this did not help the business: food was running out, hunger was impending. Nothing on the shore but seashells. The land seemed uninhabited, when suddenly the sailors began to notice some smoke to the south of the Bay of San Julian, smoking in the interior of the mainland. At night, the entire coast shone with strange lights. This so amazed the conquistadors that they called this coast the Land of Lights.

So, the team got the feeling that the earth is inhabited! However, there are no buildings around. It was a mystery …

However, it was soon resolved. A strange figure appeared on one of the coastal hills. The creature was of such enormous stature that seasoned sailors, and what they had never met on sea voyages, were horrified. Unexpectedly for the sailors, the giant began to dance and sprinkle sand on his head.

Magellan, who had seen the island savages, knew that this was how the natives expressed their friendly attitude towards strangers. He ordered one of the sailors to do the same: dance and sprinkle sand on his head. The picture, of course, was hilarious, but that was what melted the savage's mistrust. He approached the Spaniards …

The giant turned out to be a good-natured creature. Despite this, the sailors were no less afraid of the giant than at the beginning. Tall, strong, healthy men barely reached his waist! But they were under one meter ninety, and even in cuirass and helmets! It looks like the giant was at least four meters tall! The Goliath's legs were so large that a grown man could walk between them.

That is why the Spaniards began to call the aborigines "great-legged" (in Spanish - "Patagayo", respectively, and the locals of the Land of Lights were called Pata-messengers, and the land itself has since been called Patagonia). The giant's gluttony was also incredible. In one sitting he drank a bucket of water, ate half a bucket of crackers and … did not eat. For the sake of laughter, the rough, uncouth children of the sea gave the aborigine several rats, and he swallowed them alive …

However, the sailors' fears were in vain. The giant rejoiced at everything like a child. Especially when you see jewelry, trinkets, beads, metal objects like a mirror. The conquistadors presented the savage with all sorts of trinkets, and he was so disposed to them with his soul that he brought a giantess on his next visit. The chronicler of the trip, who was on the lead admiral's ship Trinidad, the Italian Pigafetta, colorfully told about this.

The idyll, however, quickly collapsed - through the fault of the Spaniards. The fact is that they had a secret mission from the Spanish king Charles V, who subsidized the expedition, ordering to bring to Spain rarities and wonders that they would meet along the way, including representatives of other human races. The conquistadors decided to capture the aborigine and drag him to the ship.

They began to think about how to do it. And they came up with it. Someone guessed to show the giant the shackles (or handcuffs): they were made of metal, they glittered cheerfully, tinkled. In short, they looked like "decorations", as demonstrated by one of the sailors. He put shackles on his feet. The giant did the same. When the shackles snapped closed, the giant was, as they say, hobbled, like a horse grazing in a field. After that they knocked him down and, despite desperate resistance, dragged him onto the ship. We also managed to hobble another aborigine. The rest of the giants fled in fear. Now it remained to deliver the giants to Europe for the amusement of the king and the inhabitants of the Old World.

Only after this deception did the insidious Magellan become scared of bad luck. Hunger began on the ships, the sailors were struck by scurvy, pestilence. And finally, fate ruined the admiral himself: in an absurd skirmish, he was killed by savages. The two giants who were transported to Spain also died of hunger. If it were not for Pigafetta's testimony, we would never have learned about the giant people of Patagonia.

But here's another mystery. This land is located in the Southern Hemisphere, very close to Antarctica. How did the giants end up there? Perhaps they were driven here by civilization and lived here as children of nature, hardy and wild. This was evidenced by Magellan's expedition … Magellan sailed in those latitudes in 1520-1521.

Tibet - "land of fires"

Are there giants in our time? Yes, this is a yeti (Bigfoot), I think he is just connected with the Magellanic giants. The dimensions of the Yeti are very similar to those described by Pigafetga. In addition, they are so adapted to the harsh conditions of the mountains of Tibet, the Canadian forests, that they do not need dwellings, they spend the night on the ground, in caves, and earn food by hunting or gathering edible plants and fruits. I write eaten raw or cooked on fires. But where are those bonfires? Who saw them?

Have seen. For example, N. K. Roerich during his famous trip to Asia and the Himalayas in 1927-1929. More than once he noted in his diary that at night his expedition observed mysterious lights high in the inaccessible mountains. Aren't these lights shining on some of the artist's canvases?..

There is numerous historical and literary evidence of human encounters with the giant race. In addition to those already mentioned, these are the “Book of Enoch” and the Bible, the ancient Greek “Gigantomachies” (“Struggle of the Titans”), other myths and legends. Someone finally served as the prototype for the French folk hero Gargantua, and Jonathan Swift's Gulliver appeared not only at the whim of his imagination. This chain of mentions of the legendary giants ends with our times with striking yeti, almasty and so on.

Here's just one more question: have we degenerated into frail, undersized people, or did giants exist in parallel with our branch of human development?

What do geology and esotericism say about the "goliaths"?

This can be learned from the works of R. Steiner, H. P. Blavatsky, Manly P. Hall, I. P. Magidovich, geological and paleontolic excavations in Xinjiang, where the bones of a giant were found.

So, the tradition for the initiated tells that 18 million years ago there was no Europe, no Asia, no Africa, no America on Earth. A giant continent stretched along the equator, which included Australia and reached Antarctica. The geological relationship of Asia, Australia and Antarctica is confirmed by our famous geologist, brilliant writer Ivan Efremov. In ancient legends, this giant ancestor was called Lemuria. Geologists who call it Gondwana do not deny its existence.

Lemuria (says esoteric tradition) was the birthplace of early humanity, individuals of which reached 18 meters in height. According to this version, the giants of antiquity preceded "normal" humanity. An idea of their size is given by the statues of Easter Island, considered a fragment of the foremother of Gondwana. After all, the Lemurians (as you can call these predecessors of humanity) erected their stone colossi in their own image and likeness.

The living representatives of the degenerated and degraded people of Lemuria, who replaced Gondwana, have also survived. If in China, in the province of Xinjiang, we can prove the existence of once giants only by found bones belonging to the ancient "goliaths", then in the same blessed America there is another area where representatives of the descendants of the biblical giants lived in the memory of modern humanity.

Now this island is called Curacao, and it is located at a parallel of 12 ° N. w., therefore, is located in the equatorial zone, just where the remnants of Lemuria-Gondwana could have been.

The sailors of the famous seafarers Ojeda and Vespucci met people of enormous stature there. Unlike Magellan, Ojeda did not try to capture the good-natured giants. And therefore, the children of nature were very friendly towards him and his team: they supplied water, coconuts, jerky game, fish and exotic fruits of their fabulous country.

But is modern man capable of peacefully coexisting with the legendary and, unfortunately, dying out tribe of biblical heroes? Is it because the last giants are hiding from us in the wild, because they believe her, and not us, the descendants of Magellan? By the way, after his death, Captain Elcano completed the trip around the world. Magellan paid with his life to kill the giants. Evil, as you know, is always punishable. So it was in the distant past of our planet.
