Nadya was barely 12 years old when, walking through the forest and picking mushrooms, she got lost in a dense forest. In vain the girl tried to find the road leading to her native village, to her house. Very soon she realized that she would have to spend a lot of time in the forest before she could get to her parents. However, then little Nadya did not yet know what she was going to experience in the future.
The desperate girl found a cozy place under a tree, covered the ground with grass and lay down to rest. She was almost asleep when suddenly a soft, soft voice made her come to her senses.
The girl became incredibly scared when she realized that someone was watching her. Meanwhile, the voice said again: "Get up and come to me!" Nadia obeyed. She got up from her couch and rushed forward to where the voice was coming from.
One strange circumstance made the girl stop for a moment. At that moment, it seemed to her that the voice was going straight to the brain. She did not hear sounds with her ears, but immediately perceived them with her brain.
Meanwhile, the voice said: “So you have come. Do not be afraid of me. I will not harm you. I am your friend! . At the same moment, the girl saw a mysterious creature appear from behind the tree. Nadya caught herself thinking that she couldn't recognize him in any way. The sudden hunch seemed to hit the brain like an arrow: this is not a man. A minute later, the frightened girl was in a deep swoon.
When, after some time, the girl woke up, she saw that she was in a spacious cave and was lying on a soft bed of straw. A little further, she made out two creatures that resembled animals in appearance. At first glance, the girl thought that there were two huge dogs in front of her. But looking closer, she realized that she was mistaken.
Giant dogs had heads and faces that resembled monkeys or humans. Their front legs were connected by a thin layer of skin that folded on the side of the animals in a large fold, like a pocket. It seemed to the girl that they were wings. She later became convinced of the correctness of her guess. Humanoid dogs really knew how to fly, although not very high and only for a short distance.
In order to somehow reassure the girl, the animals spoke to her. Nadya again heard a soft and calm voice, already familiar to her: “Don't be afraid. We will not harm you. You will live with us. We will consider you our daughter. However, she saw that the dogs did not open their mouths when they spoke. Nevertheless, the girl clearly heard all the sounds and even understood everything that the owners of the mysterious cave told her about.

Later, the little captive of mysterious animals recalled that she did not need to say anything aloud either. As soon as she thought about something, her adoptive parents already understood her and answered questions, also sending thoughts from their brain to the girl's brain.
Subsequently, Nadia learned that He and She (as the girl named animals) are spouses. They had lived in that cave for a long time and regretted only one thing - they could not have children. Having lived with them for some time, Nadya realized that the mysterious animals were kind, sympathetic and merciful creatures. They raised the girl as if it were their own daughter. The only thing that they would not allow her was to remember the place where she was born and ask them to let her go home.
According to the recollections of Nadezhda herself, her life in the cave was not bad at all. Only now the memories of her own home constantly surfaced in her mind, forcing from time to time to look in the forbidden direction, to where, in her opinion, the village was supposed to be. Few attempts to escape from intelligent animals have failed.
Every time, as soon as Nadia thought about the house, the dogs sent her a telepathic signal, warning of the subsequent punishment after the escape. Subsequently, the frightened girl seemed to have forgotten about her real parents and her native village forever.
