It has long been known that the capabilities of the human brain are used only by hundredths. Hundreds of books have been written, documentaries and feature films have been shot. And society clearly divides people into normal - those whose brain is "developed" by just those few percent, and, to put it mildly, non-standard - those who, for one reason or another, are capable of more.

There is an interesting version according to which a person does not see what he is not supposed to see, and around us there are thousands of worlds, each of which does not live parallel to ours, but is a part of it. We coexist with these subtle worlds and do not even suspect about it. But sometimes there is a kind of "failure in the matrix", and a healthy person who does not suffer from any mental disorders sees or hears (or even all together) something alien. Most often, he regards this as a hallucination, and then at least three scenarios are possible. In the first, he goes to a psychoanalyst, who safely rips off the patient, like a sticky one, and "puts" him on strong psychotropic drugs so that the pseudo-schizophrenic stops seeing or hearing this "something", which, in fact, came to complain about. After a certain period of time, this treatment leads to the fact that the "pseudo" prefix can be removed. In the second version, a person does a colossal stupidity - shares with others. A good example of this development is provided in the film "Constantine" with Keanu Reeves. There are two twin sisters - mediums, but one shared with her family that she hears “spirits”, and the second kept silent about her gift. As a result, the first one is sent to a mental hospital with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Or they may not send them to the hospital, but drive out demons to the church. What? XXI century, long live the exorcists and the burning of witches.but one shared with her family that she hears "spirits", and the other kept silent about her gift. In the third variant, the person is not afraid. He hears and listens to what is said to him. Eliminates unnecessary, remembers the most interesting. In general, I believe that everyone has their own concept of "normal". Any person has their own boundaries of "normality", and it seems to me that generally accepted norms in some areas of psychology would be more correctly called not normal, but average statistical ones. Such as it is convenient for everyone - after all, if the majority is comfortable not to see or hear something new that is beyond his understanding, then this does not raise any questions. No questions asked - and the world is calm. In the opposite situation, you will have to revise a colossal amount of information, edit it … And then what to do with academic degrees and awards issued for "achievements in the field of psychology"? That's just it. It is troublesome.

The difference in hallucinations

Two professors from Yale University decided to find out if there are any differences between what people with established mental illness see or hear and those who are considered healthy. We recruited two relevant groups, according to the only criterion - the method of communication with the "other world" should be one-sided, auditory. Each volunteer from the second group was tested on a lie detector, in addition, the organizers conducted testing. The results showed that the second group is mentally healthy and speaks the truth. The first group included people diagnosed with schizophrenia and manic-depressive psychosis.

One more group was recruited - control. As a result of the research, the professors made the following conclusion: sick people perceive "voices" in a negative way, while psychics - in a positive way. In some, otherworldly entities (or a clouded mind) cause a feeling of fear, or they will even persuade them to harm themselves or commit suicide. Others are sure that the same entities help them make the right decisions, open the past or the future. A person with mental disabilities is pre-tuned to negative emotions, while a healthy person tries to treat “voices” if not friendly, then at least not hostile. Maybe this is the solution to the problem? Is it enough to overpower yourself, defeat your fear, and life will improve? I think this principle of action applies not only to schizophrenics. As for the experiment of the Yale professors, they are fully confident that people with psychic abilities will present many more surprises: scientists, starting from their psychological characteristics, will be able to treat mental disorders much more effectively. Moreover, the researchers are sure that some psychics are able to “turn on” and “turn off” the auditory communication with these voices at will, that is, to control it. People with schizophrenia do not have this ability.that some psychics are able to “turn on” and “turn off” the auditory communication with these voices at will, that is, to control it. The double phenomenon

Cases when a person sees his own double are also known in psychiatry, but they are classified in a separate category, and are called autoscopic hallucinations. Like "voices", they are observed in both healthy people and those who suffer from mental illness. According to eyewitness accounts, the researchers identified the main features that were present in all cases.

The first "principle" of the double is unexpected appearance. It is impossible to predict it, it will not be possible to reach it. But on the other hand, you can easily recognize - most often the double is facing the "original". Well, or what he decided to "manifest" - the phantom will be the same size, but can only show the head or body. Like the Cheshire Cat. True, there will be a difference with this character - if the features of the Carroll character were always clear, then the double, despite the detail, will be dull, if not completely colorless. It is unlikely to be confused with a living person, because the phantom is often translucent, as if consisting of a gelatinous mass. People with mental illness claim that the doppelgänger teases them, mocks them, but in fact he simply repeats all their movements - right down to their facial expressions.

The phenomenon of doubles is a fertile topic for works of art. Phantoms have repeatedly become heroes of poems and stories: Heinrich Heine in his "Double" tells about a meeting of a healthy person with his own copy, Dostoevsky's work of the same name tells about the same meeting, but this time it looks more like hallucinations - the hero is mentally ill.

Previously, it was believed that a meeting with a double does not bode well, on the contrary - a phantom is a harbinger of death. Indeed, those who mentioned the meeting with the phantom did not live long after it. Subsequently, this was explained from a scientific point of view, and was knocked out in her granite (textbook "General Psychopathology"): people meet doubles, most of them suffering from various brain disorders in severe forms. One of the clinical cases is Guy de Maupassant, a French writer. When he was working on the next story, which dealt with the invisible person living in the hero's house, a man unknown to the novelist entered the room. He calmly sat down opposite the writer and began to dictate to him the continuation of the story. When Maupassant looked more attentively into the face of the uninvited guest, he realized with amazement that he was himself. As a result, the double disappeared, and the writer's nervous attacks only became more frequent.

The fertility and joy contained in it resisted disease. At first he suffered from headaches and seizures of hypochondria. Then the phantom of blindness stood before him, and his vision was dim. He developed a mania of suspicion, unsociability and litigation. He fought fiercely, tossed about on a yacht in the Mediterranean, fled to Tunisia, to Morocco, to Central Africa - and wrote incessantly. Having achieved fame, he cut his throat in the fortieth year, bled to death, but remained alive. He was locked in an insane asylum. He was crawling there on all fours … The last inscription on his mournful sheet reads: "Monsieur Maupassant turned into an animal." He died forty-two years old. His mother survived him.

Isaac Babel, story "Guy de Maupassant"

The writer did not live only a month before the 43rd birthday. The doctors' report indicated that he died of progressive brain paralysis.

There is another similar description. Poet Vasily Zhukovsky told about this case in the article "Something about ghosts." A certain Mr. Berkovich invited close friends to dinner. The company was cheerful, everyone was having a great time, and at 10 pm Berkovich's wife asked him to find out if the table was still set. The man left the living room through the next door leading to the dining room. He returned already pale as a sheet, and for the rest of the evening did not say a word. On the same day, seeing off the guests, he apparently caught a cold. And the next day he sent for them a common acquaintance with Zhukovsky, and told that he saw his death in the dining room: supposedly on the table there was a coffin in which he himself, Berkovich, lay. The man claimed that he would soon die. And so it happened. Zhukovsky tried to find an explanation for this coincidence:

It is very likely that in his body there was already an embryo of illness, the cold developed illness, and the illness, with the help of the imagination, frightened by the ghost, produced death.

In 1907, the book "Into the Mysterious Realm" was published. It also touched upon the phenomenon of twins: the author is sure that this is an abnormal phenomenon, and testifies only to one thing - a severe disorder of the nervous system. He concludes that the double most often appears only before the death of a person, but at the same time there is nothing mystical in it - this is just a reaction of the organism, a kind of diagnostic sign of an early departure to another world.

What's the diagnosis, doctor?

Parapsychologists believe that all the manifestations of the subtle world described by me in the article are not at all signs of a mental disorder. They actually exist, just a person can see or hear them only when certain conditions are created, which most often appear with some kind of malfunction in the nervous system. But this perception occurs only according to the "gloomy" scenario, while psychics, whose vision of the subtle world is considered supersensitive, everything is different. They are able to change their consciousness at will in order to receive the necessary information, and filter the incoming negative.

But it is possible that these "hallucinations" are just a property of the psyche. The psychic is able to talk with the inhabitants of the subtle world, connecting to the so-called information field of the Earth. If we consider this hypothesis to be true, then not only voices, but also doubles fit into it harmoniously. Just remember the holy fools and the blessed - people with a disturbed psyche often said sensible things. Yes, chaotically, but even in this state they managed to make a lot of predictions, which later came true. If this phenomenon were just a pathology - of course, there would be no question of any "dream come true".

I suppose there is something to think about before considering a person whose thinking is different from ours, schizophrenic, and before condemning someone who hears or sees something inaccessible to others, and call him crazy.
