Drunkenness at all times was a terrible tragedy for both the person himself and his family. This is probably why scientists are still looking for miraculous cures and remedies for this ailment, but they are not there. And it is not even known whether they will be found when. The fact is, as saints and enlightened people say, that any illness, let alone drunkenness, is given to a person for his sins - a violation of some universal laws of being.
Therefore, in this case, one should not be coded and not medications, but… pray and repent, ask the Almighty for forgiveness for one's sins (mistakes). And the best way in this case for a Christian in Russia can be the icon of the Mother of God "The Inexhaustible Chalice", as if specially given to Orthodox Russians as a chance for the salvation of soul and body.
How this amazing icon of the Virgin was found
A very interesting story of the appearance of this amazing icon. The first mention of it dates back to the end of the 19th century and is connected with the Church of the Virgin in Serpukhov. Approximately three hundred kilometers away from him at that time in one of the usual Russian villages lived a peasant (unfortunately his name has been lost) - a former soldier who had given 25 years to serve the fatherland and now he was away the rest of his years alone. No, of course, and former soldiers in this case found widows for themselves and then even had children and peacefully led a peasant farm. But this one … began to drink too much - who needs such a master?
The man drank and could not stop. Even when his legs were taken away, he continued to drink bitter and no longer hoped for anything but death, which, as they say in Russia, would correct the hunchback. But one night, the former soldier had an amazing dream, and so obvious, as if it was not a dream. An old man with a long gray beard and wise eyes appeared to him, and this holy man ordered him to go to the city of Serpukhov - to the temple of the Vysotsky monastery, in order to perform a prayer service there before the icon "Inexhaustible Chalice", after which the curse will be lifted from the drunkard, and he will be freed from your heavy burden.
However, the drunken man by that time was already so sick and poor that he had neither the strength nor the means to go on such a great journey for him - to Serpukhov. However, the amazing dreams continued, and the coming old man literally tormented the peasant with his piercing eyes and at the same time with a soft voice that made the unfortunate man obey his advice. And then the drunkard, one morning, nevertheless, went to the monastery, and he went on all fours and, without any hope, crawled to distant Serpukhov (and the former soldier had no money for a cab).
That is, the peasant had practically no chance to reach the monastery. However, already in the neighboring village, to which he crawled, he was sheltered by a compassionate herbalist - it was she who put him back on his feet, rubbing them with medicinal infusions. After that, the man without any problems reached Serpukhov, where he found the temple he needed and asked his ministers to allow him to perform a prayer service in front of the Inexhaustible Chalice icon. However, the monks were extremely surprised by such a request from a parishioner, since they did not know or even heard about such an icon.

However, when the former soldier told them about his grief and his amazing dreams, the monks began to look for the alleged icon in their storerooms and, indeed, in one of the aisles of the temple they found a completely invisible and nowhere from which icon of the Mother of God had come from, on the back of which was the inscription - “Inexhaustible bowl . After holding a prayer service in front of her with the participation of a “lost Christian soul,” they healed the former soldier from drunkenness - once and for all.
Where is the miraculous icon of the Mother of God kept today
Rumors about a miraculous icon that saves from drunkenness quickly spread throughout Russia and beyond. And people came to Serpukhov from all over the country, from other states too: drunkenness was already a widespread disease at that time. Unfortunately, after the 1917 revolution and the onset of the godless period in Russia, churches began to be destroyed, and holy icons were burned. This terrible fate befell the miraculous image of the Mother of God "The Inexhaustible Chalice."
To date, only two copies (exact copies) of that icon have survived, which are in the same Serpukhov. One copy is in the Vysotsky Monastery for men, the other in the Dominion Monastery. Both copies are miraculous, since they were written with the blessing of the Vladyka and icon painters who did not just copy the holy image, but prayed and received communion before that, fasted for a long time and practically became conductors of the holy spiritual energy bestowed on them by the Almighty.
So, if you or your loved ones have such a sin as an addiction to alcohol, and the sinner himself is a Christian, you should probably go to Serpukhov and serve a prayer service before one of these miraculous icons. Such an act of repentance will be much more effective than all the newfangled remedies and medicines for drunkenness …
