Valerie, 65, and her husband Ted found the animal two years ago in a bar in Chicago.

The owner of the bar invited visitors to take a few kittens to his home. One of them - a four-eared one - was passed around until it fell into the hands of Valerie's husband.

“Ted and I were left without our pet, which was with us for 20 years, and thought that we would no longer take kittens,” says Valerie. "But when the kitten climbed onto Ted's shoulder and fell asleep, we realized we had no other choice."

The couple decided to name their new pet after one of the heroes of the movie "Star Wars" - Jedi Yoda. Director George Lucas was inspired by his cat to create this character.

After a while, Valerie went with her eight-month-old kitten to the vet. Seeing an extra pair of Yoda's ears, the doctor admitted that he had never encountered such natural deviations. Other local veterinarians said the same.

The owner of Yoda, fearing that her unique pet could be kidnapped, stopped letting him out of the house. A special chip was also attached to the cat, in case it gets lost, RIA Novosti reports.

Some acquaintances advised Yoda's owners to perform surgery in order to leave the cat with only one pair of ears. However, Valerie is sure that this is unnecessary. Yoda is an absolutely normal cat who loves his owners and is keenly interested in the world around him. He hears in the same way as other cats.

And yet, Yoda has one interesting feature. When he purrs, you can't hear him. The purr can only be felt if you put your finger on its neck. The cat also does not differ in vociferousness when meows.
