The services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, with the support of the police, are preparing a raid on the mysterious animal.
“Last Tuesday we received information that a creature resembling a monkey was seen near the police post on the border of the Lida and Ivye regions. It crossed the border of the Lida district and ran to the neighboring Ivye district,”the Lida district police department told Interfax on Wednesday.
“This morning, both the police and the employees of the local emergency services are ready to catch a strange creature,” the Ivye District Department of Internal Affairs told Interfax.
“The main functions for the capture are assigned to the rescue services, the police will help. All personnel entering the service were ordered to report it immediately, as soon as information appears that somewhere they saw a shaggy creature resembling a monkey,”the police department said.
Rescuers have prepared special nets, but the police note that it will be more difficult to catch him in the Ivye region than in the Lida region: “There are many dense forests on the territory of this region, and if it gets into them, no one will see it until the coldest days”.
Reports of a strange shaggy creature allegedly seen in corn fields came from the Lida district of the Grodno region of Belarus on July 21.
The police were inclined to attribute the appearance of the mysterious creature to the imagination of local residents, and they, in turn, even admitted that they spread rumors about an unusual shaggy beast in order to discourage rival mushroom pickers.
However, rumors of new appearances of the mysterious creature continued to appear over and over again, after which the police were ready to assume that it could be a bum who had gone badly.
