When we say "UFO", we usually think of disc-shaped objects, so-called "plates", balls or "cigars". But they do not always have this form. There are dozens of their modifications, and one of them is a whole flying city
Most often, cities in the skies can be found over the territory of South America, but their favorite place is Chile. Why it is on the territory of this Latin American country that the largest amount of evidence of observations of flying cities has been collected is unknown, but the fact remains. One could, of course, attribute some of the eyewitness statements to fantasies, but every year new documents appear in the archives of the Chilean Air Force, which record many testimonies of Chilean pilots about encounters with UFOs in the form of flying cities. And a few years ago, on the initiative of the former commander-in-chief of the Chilean Air Force Ramon Vega (he himself repeatedly observed UFOs), a commission for the study of anomalous atmospheric phenomena was even created at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Chile, headed by Colonel Enzo Dinocera.
Director of the School of Civil Aviation. The commission meticulously collected and systematized all evidence of sightings of flying cities by both military and civilians, and presented a report that appeared on the pages of Chile's largest daily newspaper, La Tercera.
And the devices were serviceable
So, 1988. The pilots of the reconnaissance plane saw the sea under them, as they assumed, city lights and thought that they were flying over the largest port in northern Chile - the city of Antofagasta. However, while the pilots were exchanging opinions about what they thought were faulty instruments, the ground city suddenly began to rise up and … flew! With difficulty pulling themselves together, the frightened pilots immediately returned to base.
Eight years later, a similar incident occurred in southern Chile, between the cities of Punta Arenas and Puerto Williams. A little later, uninvited guests also visited the airport in Santiago. Aerial technician Joaquin Jimenez, an employee of the capital's airport, reported: “It seemed to me that the sparkling city was flying at a speed of 50 miles per hour. He swam to the runway, all shimmering with a soft emerald light, and had almost landed, as if something frightened him - he immediately removed the green glow, emitted a beam of red light and began to climb up at high speed. All this lasted about fifteen minutes."
Spy ball
According to the aircraft technician, this was not his first encounter with a UFO. Four years earlier, when he was a member of the plane's crew, he also had a chance to meet an unusual object in the air, which almost caused the death of their plane. “We were chased by a luminous yellow-orange ball about two meters in diameter,” recalls Joaquin Jimenez. - When we asked the ground if the radars could see anything near our plane, the air traffic control room answered in the affirmative, despite the fact that according to the schedule at that time there should not have been any other objects besides our plane. The balloon followed us to the airport where the plane was landing, and then flew off towards the Atlantic coast.
Judging by the records of the negotiations between the pilots and the air traffic control tower, at that moment there were problems with radio communication. A commission specially created to investigate this case, while listening to a magnetic tape with a recording, noted that only individual words, and not phrases, were recorded there. So it will probably not be possible to reliably recreate the scene of the incident.
Reluctant contactees
One of the most notorious cases of the so-called "flying houses" (another UFO classification included in the galaxy of names for the UFO phenomenon) in Chile occurred on April 16, 1990. Then the space guests overturned the whole house of the Balboa family.
A red hemisphere with white flashing lights around the perimeter began to make circles at a height of no more than 10 meters directly above the house of the peacefully sleeping family. Only the head of the family, Gustav Balboa, was awake, it was he who became the main eyewitness to the incident when, having hooked on the edge of the house, the UFO tried to lift the structure into the air! The house crackled, toppled over on one side, but the frightened household members still managed to jump out of it and run to the side. A red ray suddenly appeared from the UFO, which began to hit the power line, nearby buildings … A few minutes later, the mysterious guest, whose "fun" almost cost the lives of several people, soared high up and in a matter of seconds disappeared into the sky.
After the atrocities of the mysterious object, all buildings were destroyed, the plants on the plantation near the house dried up (some of them were burned or even completely burned out). But the members of the Balboa family themselves seem to have escaped with a slight fright. At the very least, the medical commission, which examined and then observed the contactees involuntarily for several months, did not notice any changes in their well-being or the acquisition of unusual abilities and skills.
Eclipses out of schedule
Ufologists were interested in whether the historical chronicles mention cases that can be considered a UFO phenomenon. It turned out that in 1762, 1818, 1820 and in other years - up to the beginning of the 20th century - astronomers observed giant bodies in the background of the solar disk, moving
contrary to the laws of celestial mechanics. And sometimes darkness fell on small areas of the Earth's surface, regardless of pre-calculated solar eclipses … This could only happen for one reason: a gigantic body appeared in the orbit of our planet - so gigantic that it could even shield the Sun!
The darkness that suddenly descended to the ground on a bright sunny morning or afternoon frightened people so much that panic inevitably began; many even thought that the end of the world had come: some prayed fervently, others ended their suicide. Hundreds of cases of this kind of suicide have been recorded in the USA, Great Britain, Holland.
Found in the old archives of various countries and mentions of the mysterious "planets" that suddenly appeared in near-solar orbits, and then just as suddenly disappeared.
The famous French researcher of the phenomenon of "flying cities" Maurice de San put forward the sensational idea that many "artificial worlds" are flying in the Universe - spaceships of a unique design containing the population of entire planets! Moreover, UFOs (the so-called "plates", "cigars" and others) are only reconnaissance ships, and their sharp increase in one place or another can mean only one thing: on approach - another city ship.

What are the mysterious inhabitants of space looking for on Earth? It is unlikely that an answer to this question will be obtained in the near future. After all, heavenly guests are in no hurry to make contact with earthlings. Over the course of the history of earthly civilization, thousands of evidences of UFO encounters have been accumulated, but no one has yet managed to enter into dialogue with aliens. Apparently, in the opinion of celestial observers, we are at such a low stage of development that we are not yet ready to negotiate on equal terms. Is this so, time will tell …
