Upper Baksan in the Baksan gorge, from there the route begins along the gorge towards Lake Syltrankel, located at an altitude of 3200 m. Not reaching the lake, at an altitude of 3000-3100 m, near a weakly expressed tourist trail, there are interesting megaliths that are very difficult to miss. The fact that they are made of granite indicates a high probability of their antiquity. Since there are no roads nearby, climbing to such a height is quite difficult, especially if you carry tools for processing (granite) or the already processed blocks themselves. All this also speaks of the great antiquity of processing, and one can only guess about the structure itself, since only the upper stones are visible, scattered a few tens of meters from each other. It should be noted that the rock around does not differ from megaliths, i.e. they were made, most likely, on the spot. The whole area is composed, mainly from scree, grass in rare areas and, of course, rocks.

Could they have been destroyed in the Great Patriotic War? Question … But I never heard about them from anyone else - neither from the locals, nor from the climbers. Although again, it's hard not to notice them. And tourists periodically pass there, since the Syltrankel lake is the largest and most beautiful in the Elbrus region. The only thing I heard is that if you continue to follow from the lake towards Elbrus, and this is already a very difficult route through glaciers and ridges, you can go in one day to the snowy valley of Djikiugankez (otherwise the frozen lake Djikauchenkez). And so, allegedly, even Tibetan monks know him and consider him sacred. They say, "Why do you strive for us when you have such a relic under your nose !?" It seems that Lake Syltrankel was also considered sacred and these megaliths could be like a gate …

If we add up all the information, add that speleologists discovered man-made mines and caves in the Elbrus region, then we can assume that these places keep many mysteries that are just beginning to be solved.
