December 24, 1865 151 years ago The secret racist terrorist organization Ku Klux Klan was created in the USA
After the defeat in the American Civil War of 1861-1865, several Confederate veterans formed the secret racist terrorist organization Ku Klux Klan on December 24, 1865, to fight the Negro movement and progressive organizations.
In 1867, delegates from the states of the former Confederation gathered at a convention in Nashville and formed the secret society, The Invisible Empire of the South. The organization had a hierarchical structure. At its head was the Great Magician, to whom the great dragons, titans and cyclops obeyed. The first Great Mage was the Confederate cavalry general Nathan Bedford Forrest.
The Kukluksklan members came up with a special uniform: white robes with slits for the eyes to intimidate recalcitrant blacks and the impossibility of identifying members of the organization by the federal authorities.

In the 1870s, due to the executions of the recalcitrant with particular cruelty, the organization was formally disbanded. However, it did not cease to exist and was revived in 1915 in Atlanta.
Now the Kukluksklanists persecuted not only blacks, but also Catholics, Jews, as well as all immigrants and foreigners. The number of members of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s exceeded 4 million!
They arranged marches, parades, night processions with burning crosses. During the Great Depression and the war, the Ku Klux Klan virtually ceased to exist. But in the 1960s, the organization was revived again when civil rights activists were terrorized.
On October 13, 1999, the Charleston, South Carolina City Council voted to recognize the Ku Klux Klan as a terrorist organization. The adopted resolution also condemns any other groupings that "sow hatred towards other people, races, religions, culture or way of life."
