Why did I decide to write about this? First, because of the huge lies around tattoos on the Internet. I assure you that you will not find the truth on this topic in the media, or it will be greatly distorted. Secondly, once I, just like you, thought about a tattoo, and I have accumulated a lot of information and thoughts about this.

I want to share my personal experience. This article does not aim to condemn, hate or antagonize someone, there will be no horror stories about possible blood poisoning and AIDS, hackneyed phrases like: “What are you, a prisoner ?!”, “How will you look in old age? ?! "," How do you get a good job ?! " Moreover, in this article, I will not even dissuade you from going to a tattoo parlor. This is your business, and in any case, you will have the last word. This text is the result of many years of thinking about why people even get tattoos, is it good or bad, and what it gives us. And if you, a young man (boy or girl), are going to a tattoo artist, then, of course, you have already found your answers to all these questions. So let's check with mine. I think it will be interesting. Unlike you, they were not so easy for me.

Secret

I began to think about tattoos from early childhood. Why when a little boy, for fun, draws himself with ordinary ink - everyone laughs at him and leads him to the bath, and when an adult uncle in all seriousness draws himself out with indelible ink - no one laughs … It's incomprehensible. Probably, at this moment for the first time I had a question: why do some people make these strange indelible drawings on themselves?

Promotional video:

Surprisingly, many things we do precisely because we cannot understand them. Simple things have always been difficult for me to understand. For example, as a child, I still could not understand smokers. Why do adults inhale the smoke of smoldering tobacco hay ?! It was absolutely illogical and did not fit into my childhood consciousness. But if this is as stupid and wild as it sounds, then why is my own dad (who was the absolute authority for me) doing this ?! To all my questions the adults had the same answer: “This is bad! You can get sick, die …”But why they do it, even in spite of such risks, nobody could clearly explain. This riddle did not leave my head, I literally suffered, I tormented myself with questions. Curiosity prevailed. That is why the first time I smoked a cigarette. Just to solve this mystery. I didn't want to be coolcocky or growing up in front of peers. I just wanted to understand my dad. I wanted to comprehend the world, society, people, I prepared to take a big step up in my knowledge of life and … after a long cough, I still did not understand anything. I did not understand this and all the next 12 years that I had to be a smoker. Too high a price for an unsolved mystery. It was only years later that it finally dawned on me: I am not alone - no one here understands anything, this is how this ancient divorce turns out to be working! Like that unanswered riddle in the news feed that grips the mind, but does not give a solution, and in order to end the torment and find out the cherished answer, you are offered to click on some dumb link and subscribe to something there. Bait. The trap in which the mind of people falls and makes them victims of their own naivety and curiosity. It is the same with alcohol and other drugs and vices. At first we are perplexed, and then we want to try to understand: there must be at least some logic in this absurdity, but having tried, we fall headlong into an insidious trap, the main trick of which is that now we ourselves are becoming a bait for the following victims. “Why are they all doing this game ?! Hmmm, I'll go scout out …"

In search of logic

But what has the tattoos to do with it? Tattoos are not some kind of game, they are completely different. And here we are not going to discuss the crazy marginals, beaten from head to toe by all sorts of devilry, it is clear that these tats have already gone crazy. We kind of decided to talk about one harmless little tattoo that you are going to make. What's bad about it?

In the same way, I, having decided to get a tattoo, began desperately looking for a positive in them and in every possible way to highlight this phenomenon. I will not, in my right mind and clear memory, harm myself. I'm not my enemy. If you observe the measure, I thought, then a tattoo is a whole art and a sign of an extraordinary personality. Apparently, I shouldn't have written them on a par with smoking and alcohol. What nonsense. Nothing in common! Although … there seems to be dependence on them, and problems in the team and family, some other, and many people have a cuckoo. But there is definitely a difference. There are … For example, smokers and drunkards can quit, but this will not work with tattoos. But … then it turns out that tattoos are even worse. I agree - a bad example. And yet it's not the same thing, I continued to reflect. Tattoos, in the end, do not change consciousness … True, I was not completely sure of this either, there was always something that set people with tattoos apart from the rest. I felt it. Probably you felt it too.

To finally understand these issues, I went to the Internet and read many articles and forums, studied hundreds of arguments of those who have already got a tattoo, I tried to understand their logic. I will sometimes interrupt this article with the main arguments of the fans of tattoos and my reasoning on this score. So people get tattoos:

1) … as a keepsake

This strange logic did not convince me. “You're not a notebook, are you? - I wrote back. "Or do you have such a bad memory that you forget the names and faces of your children, that you love your mother and how you served in the army for two years?"

2) … because it will highlight my spirituality and intellectuality

“But people of high spiritual and intellectual level do not need tattoos. Can you imagine a Russian language teacher with a Pushkin profile pinned on his arm? An art critic - with a painting by Aivazovsky on his back? Scientist - with a diagram of a nuclear reactor on his chest? Math - with a complicated, hieroglyph-like formula around your neck? Me not"

3) … because it is beautiful (aesthetically pleasing, decoration)

“But beautiful tattoos don't exist. After all, even a masterpiece of world painting, impaled on the skin, becomes vulgar. Imagine the painting "The Ninth Wave" stuffed on the back, "Sistine Madonna" on the belly, "Morning in the Pine Forest" on the right roll. It's disgusting!"

4)… to emphasize your individuality

“But where is the logic? Now you will share your one and only look with other looks on your own skin. The more images you wear, the more your own is lost."

5) … because it's trendy

“But again, where is the logic? Not a single fashionista will agree to wear the same thing all her life in a nightmare. Is not it? But the impaled butterfly will now sit on its bottom until the end of days. If you don’t feel sorry for yourself, have pity at least the butterfly!"

Thought experiments

Tattoos … is it good or bad? - I tormented myself with a question. Intuitively, for some reason I still understood that it was bad. Just because my conscience said so. But I could not substantiate this. I set up thought experiments, I imagined two groups of one hundred people. I named one group “Good” and the other “Bad”. In the first, there were citizens useful to society: teachers, doctors, scientists. In the other - criminals, drug addicts and perverts. Which group will have more tattoos? I asked myself. Easy question - it is clear that in the second. But why? Are all people with tattoos bad?

Then I remembered my grandfather. Once in his youth, he also made himself a tattoo, in which he confessed his love to my grandmother. The emotional impulse of a young bully in love. I still remember this inscription: "Nina + Yura" inside a curve drawn from the hand of the heart in blue ink on his sinewy arm. My grandfather was a very positive person, and I say this not because he was my grandfather, but because he was a good family man, a master and a man of incredibly great soul and kindness. Until now, everyone who knew him a little bit has a bright memory of him. So, not everything is so simple with these tattoos, - I doubted …

Experiment # 2

Then I decided to go from the opposite. Tattoos are good, and if so, I tried to imagine that every person on Earth suddenly had tattoos. I tried to imagine a happy tattooed family, wise, ink-filled old men, painted scientists, writers, defenders of the Fatherland, a highly developed conscious society in which all residents would brand themselves with various cutaneous ornaments. I tried … only it didn't work. On the contrary, the more primitive the society, the easier it was for me to draw tattoos before my eyes. From top to bottom: from the Soviet, where the path was not allowed with tattoos for decent work, to the Mumbo-Yumbo tribe, in which it was, on the contrary, encouraged in every possible way and was a sign of wealth, but where, according to rumors, cannibalism still flourished. Tattoos, pierced earsrings on elongated necks and bones in the nose seemed to me there most clearly. Here, primitive traditions and savage rituals were stronger than man. For thousands of years, civilization never emerged there, and it is unlikely that it will ever appear. Sadly, these people and their descendants will forever remain hostages of their own culture. It turns out that culture can put an end to the development of generations of entire nations! This is not such a harmless phenomenon.

Experiment # 3

But we, thank God, are not some Papuans! Tattoos don't make us savages, they make us … By the way … And what do they make us, what do they give us? Once I saw a man with a grinning wolf stuffed on his shoulder and suddenly, for the sake of a joke, I thought: I wonder, how would this wolf look with a grinning man drawn on the wool? What advantages would it give him? Would he become more beautiful after that? Maybe more brutal, maybe it emphasized his individuality, increased masculinity and authority in the pack, maybe he would become fashionable, sexy, intellectual and spiritualized? Of course, it is incorrect to compare animals with people, but, in my opinion, such a wolf would look very funny and stupid.

But let's digress and continue my hit parade of the most frequent arguments "why did I get a tattoo", and look for logic in them:

6) … to increase status and authority

“But would a teacher in tattoos inspire authority and trust in you yourself? President, scientist or physician with inscriptions on the body? Do you think: cool? Then I will put the question differently: would you entrust such a doctor with the life of a loved one? If the doctor did not spare his own body, then why would he care about someone else's? I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but personally, I have always associated responsibility with authority, and just the opposite with tattoos”

7)… on emotions

“But, as you know, emotions overshadow the mind. Emotions go away very quickly. Joy, sadness, delight - they will pass. But the brand is not. And then a serious psychological out-of-sync occurs. For example, when in a good mood a person suddenly sees a tattoo on his hand, made because of the death of a loved one, the mood will instantly deteriorate. And so all my life. But funny tattoos during a time of grief will hardly add joy and will only look ridiculous and flawed”

8) … because it is an element of history and an ancient tradition

“Whose tradition, your ancestors from Ryazan? Or backward tribes and people serving sentences? And to which branch are your historical roots closer?"

9) … to please girls (boys), of course

“Yes, you may be successful in a certain category. Only this is the visible part of the iceberg, you will never know how many girls you scared away from yourself with this very tattoo. And I'll tell you - this is an order of magnitude more, because according to statistics, only 15% of people support the owners of tattoos. It turns out that you voluntarily closed yourself off to the other 85%. Good luck macho, you will need it."

10) … to be like their idols. All the stars get tattoos

“But tell me, where did you find such a salon where talents, voice, muscles and appearance are injected. Or do you think that your idol has achieved all this thanks to the drawings on the skin?"

Image
Image

… Information was accumulating, but there was still no positive or logic in it. Now, if a person wants, for example, a car, I thought, it's not enough just to take it and draw it. We need to work on this. Is that so? Then why, if someone wants to be courageous and strong - draws lions, wolves or skulls on themselves? If someone wants to be sexy - draws hearts and roses on themselves? If someone wants to be smart - draws wise quotes and hieroglyphs on themselves? If someone wants to seem kind - he writes: "I will not forget my own mother" Where are they all going to go in a drawn car?

Classification

Chatting on the forums, I found out that tattoos are done for many reasons, so to further understand the motives that inspired people to get tattoos, I began to classify. Next, I will describe all the groups so that you can find out which specific category you will also fall into after leaving the tattoo parlor.

Rebels

When I was little, popular culture still did not promote skin drawings that much, so mostly guys with a criminal past went with tattoos. Apparently, in the places where they sat, tattoos were a mandatory rule. Here, as they say: you can't get out. Because of this, the presence of a tattoo has acquired a strong association with the zone. But more and more often others began to appear on my way, branding themselves already voluntarily. The first group that I happened to meet in my youth, I called - "rebels". Such people get tattoos in early youth and out of mindlessness, usually in protest to their parents who limited, restrained or suppressed them. Then these guys grew older, went into independent swimming and turned into parents themselves, the relevance of their tattoos fell below zero every year, and, as a rule,"Rebels" have always regretted what they had done.

Accessories

But let's move on. Having matured a little, I became interested in rock, and in my environment there were many acquaintances with colorful images of skulls, motorcycles and the logos of their favorite musical bands. These were the world's guys! I am friends with many to this day. With their tattoos, they expressed the unity with the rock culture. I classified such people as "belonging". Through tattoos, such people try to correlate themselves with a certain social group, show that they are part of a certain direction, trend or profession. In this category, in addition to musicians and bikers, I included athletes, the military, as well as fascists, sectarians and, again, notorious criminals, where can we go without them. They all had their own slogans, signs and symbols. The contents were different, but the structure remained the same and it strongly influenced each member. It was precisely under the influence of rock music that I thought about getting a tattoo, but the longer I rotated in this environment, the more the downside of this culture began to manifest itself: drug addicts and "occult types". These stuffed their bodies with snakes, devils, inverted stars, spells and other abominations. They, in my opinion, greatly disgraced rock. The same, if not worse, happened in the rapper environment. But everyone started out very “harmless”: with a small tattoo in honor of their favorite group. Damn, and I was just about to do the same!in my opinion, they greatly disgraced rock. The same, if not worse, happened in the rapper environment. But everyone started out very “harmless”: with a small tattoo in honor of their favorite group. But everyone started out very “harmless”: with a small tattoo in honor of their favorite group. Damn, and I was just about to do the same!

Concerned

The next category of people who adore tattoos, I called "preoccupied" - these are turned on sex and all sorts of perverts. I don't want to write a lot about them, you yourself understand: the topic is disgusting. They usually start with roses and orchids. But, as they say, these were only flowers. Dissolving and expanding throughout the body, together with the "bouquets", their weakness for intimacy opens and grows. With each new tattoo, this promiscuity manifests itself more and more. Such people rarely know when to stop. Butterflies, moths, piercings, patterns and hearts in the lower parts of the body immediately flock to the "flowers". If a girl made such a tattoo for herself, she would fall into this indecent group for me forever. Building strong relationships with these is a huge risk.

11) … you don't understand anything, this is art

“The art of what? To be a canvas for an artist? It's not you who painted it, but ON YOU. Paper has never been a piece of art. Here you generally act in the role of a thing - in my opinion, the most humiliating role for a MAN"

12) … to attract attention, to declare yourself to the world

“Do you really want every outsider to read you like an open book, know the name of your children, where you served, your hobbies, favorite music, what problems do you have? In five minutes, any psychologist will find an approach to you and strings to pull on. But the main information that will be read from you is, first of all, that you are prone to frivolous actions. You're just a gift for manipulators! You will definitely attract their attention. They know: sometimes it is enough to simply praise such people in order to enter into absolute trust: “Oh, are you listening to Metallica? Handsome, I adore her too …”- two seconds - and an unknown person has already come into contact with you and managed to win over. Draw conclusions"

13) … to indicate a motto for life

“But we are constantly changing. Slogans, thoughts that inspire us today - tomorrow will become irrelevant. Remember how many times you changed your VKontakte status? Or, for example, one of my first-year acquaintances had a motto: "Sex, drugs, and rock and roll!" Then he grew out of these thoughts, his character, position, life and worldview changed. Only this inscription on his chest has not changed. Tattoos make mental growth very difficult, or stop it completely. And it doesn't matter what you put on yourself - even the most correct thoughts have a place in your head, and not on your skin."

14) … to try something new

“I see, are you bored? And there are so many things in the world that you have not tried yet! Arsenic, bats, lick swing in the cold. Why did you start with a tattoo?"

15) … for fun. Because I like it, that's all

“The last argument of those who cannot substantiate their actions, they do not have their own opinion at all. You are not one of them?"

Stupid

But let's continue with the classification. Every year, with the dominance of mass culture, I began more and more often to observe people with tattoos around me, whom I included in the most numerous group (just, please, no offense) - "DULL". These make tattoos for the company, drunk, because today such a mood. Because the New Year … because I wanted to fill up and see what would happen, because the neighbor has the same tattoo, and similar stupid reasons, which cannot be counted because stupidity is limitless. And it's not bad when this group includes Tolya's uncle from the garage cooperative, but the problem is that this category is full of celebrities and actors, who are equal to millions, if not billions. And being a Hollywood artist doesn't make them geniuses yet. Rather, on the contrary, in the field of show business and sports there are often people who have not even finished school. Read it yourself, what the “stars” say, I will leave their quotes below, you can assess the intellectual level of those from whom all “progressive” youth take an example.

Sick

Another large group prone to tattoos is the sufferers who carry some kind of mental PAIN. With their tattoos, the "sick" (as I called this category), as it were, stifle the internal torments of the physical. In this way they express their indignation and even contempt to the world. These are people whom life has not spared: survivors of beatings, humiliation, unhappy love, the death of loved ones. A sore pain sits inside them and is constantly looking for a way out. In order not to pour it out on others, sufferers often pour it out on themselves, and this is how they develop this psychological deviation: the desire to inflict wounds on themselves. Such people often cut their veins, insert piercings, pierce something, engage in other self-mutilation and, of course, get a tattoo. But will it become easier for them if their own body will remind them of their inner pain every day? It turns out to be a vicious circle. Whether they want it or not, masochists still project negativity onto others and carry it into the world. You can't look at them without tears, they inspire sadness and decline in those around you. What advice can you give these unfortunate people? If you have a need to hurt yourself, then the best way out of this psychological situation is to hurt yourself in training. Drive yourself out of bad thoughts while running. Hit the pear, not the tattoo. Many thus changed their lives for the better and got out of the crisis. You need to get rid of depression, and not keep it on your skin all your life as a constant reminder.hurting yourself in training. Drive yourself out of bad thoughts while running. Hit the pear, not the tattoo. Many thus changed their lives for the better and got out of the crisis. You need to get rid of depression, and not keep it on your skin all your life as a constant reminder.

Scarecrows

The next group is forced to get tattoos by their obsessive desire to assert themselves on someone and to dominate. They need victory over everyone, but not over themselves. Because of their tendency to intimidate everyone, I called this category "scarecrows." Often these can be found among participants in combat sports, as well as among notorious people. Even if a huge and seemingly fearless healed, the MMA champion covers himself with tattoos, this indicates that somewhere in his soul he is not sure of himself. How many of these interrupted Fedor Emelianenko - do not count. Paradoxically, absolutely all these brutal pictures are made under the influence of great fear. What can we say about squishies, how many knives, skulls and tigers I have seen on their frail bodies. Rrrr, be afraid of me! Better just do not touch.

Image
Image

16) … to prove something to someone

“Hey boy, is your life a theorem in geometry? I have never heard of a tattoo to prove something. Except for the proof of stupidity, perhaps"

17)… to change the image

“If you like to change your image, then it is absolutely possible that you will want to change it more than once. Today you decided to be the bad guy and got a tattoo. Only now you will never change it"

18)… nonsense. I can always withdraw

“This is a very dangerous illusion that removes psychological defenses and leads naive teenagers to tattoo parlors. "Why be afraid - at any time you can bring it down." But this is not true. Firstly, hatching is the same business of the same tattoo industry, and the same guys from whom you suffered are running it. Secondly, it is expensive - those who ruined your skin will simply take money from you again, thirdly, the process of removal is more difficult and painful than application, it has many stages and sometimes lasts several years. And fourthly, in place of the ugly tattoo that you decided to remove, there will now be an ugly scar, burn, black marks and unremoved fragments. Surprise. Clean skin will never be there. But the master is unlikely to tell you about this: the cow must be milked as long as possible. Don't like the result? You just need to go through a couple more procedures. Or let's get a new one. See you in a month, save your money. Discount for regular customers!"

19) … do not read me morals, a tattoo does not make a person worse, their deeds make a person worse

"And stuffing dirt on the body with needles, indelible for the body, offending loved ones, the human image, participating in degradation, financing a business that harms society, and being a walking advertisement for this vice all your life - is it really a good thing?"

20) … what are you telling me nonsense! Tattoos don't make anyone good or bad, they don't change anything or affect anything

“Then it's all the more incomprehensible why they should be done? Some kind of nonsense. There is no logic"

The search continued, but logic, as you can see, was not even close. After all these analyzes listed above, you may get the impression that, analyzing the arguments of people, I specifically deduce that there is no logic and positiveness in tattoos at all. I can assure you it is not. In the end, I still managed to find such a reinforced concrete argument that completely convinced me, this was the very case when the tattoos had both meaning and benefit. Wait.

Image
Image

Why are they being promoted everywhere?

There must be logic, I thought, and it can't be just bad, everything has both negative and positive aspects, and if the tattoos are so bad, then why are they promoted everywhere: in films, in music videos, in sports? This has already become almost a pass to social life. Fashion bloggers, youth idols simply must have a tattoo. Maybe their colorful drawings are not showing off, but evidence of great talent, cultural level, and that's why all gifted individuals fill them? And mediocre people like me simply cannot understand them because of their wretchedness and backwardness? But after a little reflection, I also saw no logic in this. It wasn't always like this. More recently, tattoos were condemned. Psychologists saw in them mental deviations and did not allow tattooed people and close to television. And the cultural level did not suffer from this. On the contrary. It is no secret that it is the modern “culture” that has fallen below nowhere and carries little other than degradation. Is it possible to compare Eljay and Muslim Magomayev, Face and Mark Bernes, Timothy and Shukshin, Mamaev and Lev Yashin. It's even disgusting to put their names next to them. A huge abyss. For some reason, even without tattoos, Soviet artists and athletes were much more talented than the current ones.

Image
Image

So why, then, are tattoos now so persistently imposed on young people? The salons are open at every turn. And this is not condemned, on the contrary, is it being convinced everywhere that there is nothing wrong with it? A tattoo won't make you worse! She is completely harmless! It won't take anything important from you! But I imagined what would have happened if such an obsessive propaganda had unfolded earlier. Would Gagarin, for example, have flown into space if he had succumbed to fashion and visited a tattoo parlor? One small tattoo would have put an end to his gigantic dream. And what will I gain in this salon and what will I lose? After all, a tattoo can really deprive me of a lot, and money is the smallest payment for such a dubious service, because I can be left without respect, serious attitude and prospects. A lot. And what in return? What's the use? Who benefits from it more, me or the ringleader, for which tattoos are money? Me or the capitalists, who consider people to be their product and conduct a policy of dehumanization in every possible way in order to keep the people by the herd, and cattle, as you know, need to be branded? Me or someone who has already put this very stigma on himself and wants to drag me into his flock in order to subconsciously assert himself that he is not the only fool. It turns out: in this cunning scheme on one side I am, and on the other - some unpleasant personalities … And their interest is very clear, but mine?that he is not the only fool. It turns out: in this cunning scheme on one side I am, and on the other - some unpleasant personalities … And their interest is very clear, but mine?that he is not the only fool. It turns out: in this cunning scheme on one side I am, and on the other - some unpleasant personalities … And their interest is very clear, but mine?

Image
Image

21)… without a tattoo, I will be mediocre, gray, uninteresting

“We are all born without tattoos, you have lived without them for many years. So all this time you were gray and ordinary? What a twist!"

22) … it's a way of expressing yourself

“They usually express themselves through creativity. Self-expression is a way to share yourself with the world. With your ideas, thoughts and deeds. The tattoo is not YOU. You didn't even do it. What if all the greats "expressed themselves" through tattoos? The world would have received nothing but unknown tauted people"

23) … to express your unity with some culture, movement or profession

“But will you lose this unity without a tattoo? Will you stop loving rock, oriental culture, forget your profession, stop loving your hobby? Can't you guess a like-minded person without identification marks on his arm? Yes fisherman fisherman, as they say …"

24) … yes, I agree, if a lot is disgusting, of course, but if one - there will be no problems

“Even the most downtrodden marginal, from head to toe blackened from tattoos, also once got his first tattoo. It seems to me that then he reasoned exactly like you, and did not think at all that everything would go so far. Where is the 100% guarantee that you will not follow these well-trodden paths?"

25) … so what is forever? On the contrary, it's great that at least something will stay with me for life! Children are also born forever

“Incorrect, the stupidest comparison that one can only imagine: children and artificial pigment driven under the skin, no matter what it portrays. And if I would like to keep something for my whole life, it is definitely not ink in my body. It's like carrying your children's drawings with you all your life, for which you were ashamed after a year. A year later, these were completely different drawings, yes, they did not change, but my attitude towards them completely changed. And after a while you will not look at your tattoo the same way as now. Nothing happens for life"

Why do people get tattoos?

For a long time, while classifying people with tattoos, I found one common feature that united all groups without exception. This was the long-awaited answer to the question that tormented me: "why do people get tattoos?", And the main reason why I myself changed my mind about doing it. I laughed for a long time, realizing this. In their search for themselves, all of the above guys tried to seem like they were not. They wanted the easiest way to increase their profile. Cheap stuffing for a price they don't have. A strong personality will not succumb to fashion, tattoos are a manifestation of weakness. This is imposed: I was not born with the desire to get myself a tattoo. This desire came from outside. After brainwashing. And if I succumb, then I am a weakling. I am suggestible. You can influence me. What, then, am I a rebel or a tough guy?

You, of course, will object: “but what about boxers, fighters without rules, all sorts of champions - they also often make tattoos, they are not some kind of weaklings ?!”. Unfortunately, even the strongest personalities have weak deeds. In every tattoo there is always the same inscription: "I am a weakling" Because I have not coped with the pain, with the influence of the crowd, with instincts, my own complexes, I cannot achieve a result, like my idol, I need something constantly to prove something, I'm afraid I have not realized myself in life, I am subject to emotions … Tattoos are a weakness, either of the spirit, or of the mind, or both. This is fear bursting onto the skin. Really cool is not necessary. Everyone already knows that he is cool and without any tattoos. They have nothing to prove. A person who does not follow the crowd will never get himself a tattoo.

26) … What are you talking about, I just got the tattoo, because I'm a MAN

“Are you a man without a tattoo? Or less man? Is this logic?"

27) … to be challenging

"But then you don't need a tattoo, but attention."

28) … for religious reasons, my brother

“But if God wants tattoos in his honor, why did he create you without them? On the contrary, believers have the opinion that a tattoo is a spit at the Creator, since you have defiled the body that he gave you clean. And if your religion, "my brother", requires you to stigmatize yourself with some symbols and undergo initiation rites, make sure before that that you are not in a sect."

29) … they even say the Minister of Culture has a tattoo

"Well, look at this culture"

30) … yes, people without tattoos are even more inadequate! They rush at us, read morals, what your business, bores!

“I agree, you don't need to attack anyone. But if you really, unlike these bores, are an adequate and advanced guy, and they don't understand you because of their backwardness, then have you tried to understand them yourself? Isn't this a sign of adequacy? Have you ever wondered why people with tattoos are not liked? Why, for example, is mate banned in public places? Because it's disrespectful. This offends the honor and dignity of people. But not only abuse, but also appearance can offend? Then why are you surprised that you are constantly being criticized? This is just quite logical and adequate. Yes, of course, this is their business, and you don’t care deeply about them, but look who is most indignant, whom you wrote down as inadequate, aren’t those who care about you the most? Parents, teachers, old people, caring people. Are they inadequate?"

31)… I'm a tattoo artist and I don't see anything wrong with tattoos - this is my bread

“But you definitely shouldn't listen to such people, this is an interested person. And don't we constantly see them on YouTube and TV shows as experts and connoisseurs? They can spend hours without stopping hanging noodles about sophistication, tradition, art, originality, how fun and healthy it is. Weigh the pros and cons, procrastinate this topic indefinitely. But in one word all this is called - ADVERTISING. They all work in this business. Hurry around here. And of course, they are very afraid that the fools will end. Spread your ears, they will tell you! Turn on any such "expert" - it makes no difference, everything is according to the template: stylish, fashionable, cool, what they mean, what secret meaning they carry, where is it better to do, what should be said to mom so as not to swear, how to poke around correctly, and what morons are dense around - do not understand you advanced, but you are so extraordinary, talented, creative … Do you remember how in the song: "You don't need a knife for a fool"? You can understand all of them, your tattoo is their money and career. And they are far from poor. This is the only logical rationale for tattoos that I have found. And the only positive and benefits from them are for these people"

32) … and rightly so! Let the fools be tagged so that we can see them in the crowd

"But fools should grow wiser, and not produce other fools and multiply this phenomenon in society"

33) … yes, tattoos are bad. But I mask my scars with them

Familiar situation. I myself also have scars, and more than once I have been offered to mask them with a tattoo. But the fact is that there is no positive in such an act either, and this is extremely illogical. And that's why. Covering scars with tattoos, I still become an advertisement for tattoos. This is a weak act. I will be on a par with those who harm society. I will put my complexes above negative consequences for others. And this is selfishness. Children will not recognize my motives, they will see the tattoo, and bad thoughts will come to their heads. The only rare case that can be understood is when such tattoos are not visible, as in the photo.

But this is so rare in relation to those who stigmatize themselves for no good reason. And supporters of tattoos grab onto these isolated examples and shout with all their might: “Look! Look! Tattoos are useful! " And they bleach this phenomenon in society, which for some reason does not think that such cases are one in a million. And in the public consciousness a strong belief is created that tattoos are needed, that it is good and useful. And such an opinion causes incomparable harm. Is it logical to consider this reason a positive from a tattoo? For a person - maybe. For society - definitely not. Keeping a huge tattoo industry, which every day stigmatizes thousands of children for such isolated cases, is absolutely not logical"

34) … For good luck

“Oh, lucky guy, you've probably won your first million? If tattoos bring good luck, then, according to this logic, the luckiest ones here are those serving criminal sentences and drug addicts. They even have tattoos "for luck" on their ears. But seriously: judge for yourself who has more tattoos, happy people who have realized themselves in life, or unhappy, dysfunctional people who have gone astray. Don't be silly: the only ones who really got lucky with tattoos were tattoo artists and those who work in this area."

35) And the last thing : you know what is the most frequent argument I have heard in response to the question "Why did you get a tattoo?" This is aggression and a transition to personalities: "Fuck it, it's none of your business, you can't understand what, the smartest?" I expect that it will be so in the comments under this article, you can check. When insults are heard, it immediately becomes clear to me: the screaming person himself does not know the answer. So she's mad.

And now you know. So we come to the end of my story. As promised, I will not dissuade you from going to a tattoo parlor, and this story has an open ending. You will put the point yourself. Finally, I want to say only one thing: if you are still going to get a tattoo, think carefully. After all, now you will be doing not one, but several at once: there is too much likelihood that at this moment you will prick the brand and your future children, who will see your skin picture and ask all the same questions. They will have a secret, and they want to solve it. Remember, leaving the salon, you will inevitably become the bait for the next victims. This is how this ancient trap works.

PS After reading, some readers may have a reasonable question: what if I already got a tattoo and regret it?

First, be aware that getting a tattoo does not in any way make you a bad person. Secondly, it does not stop spiritual growth, but makes it difficult. The main thing is that you realized your stupidity and outgrew it. A tattoo is not a cross, you can grow mentally, it will just be a little harder for you. But it's not for nothing that athletes put on weights, so they can become even stronger than those who did not wear them.

And most importantly: stop being bait - don't show your tattoos to others. If this is not possible, explain to people and especially children that once upon a time you made a mistake and are very sorry about it.
