Initially, it was planned as a tenement house, so that it could then be rented out to guests for a fee. The contractor was a certain Orlov, who after a very short time died under unexplained circumstances. The construction work was undertaken by the wife of the deceased contractor.
Nevertheless, already in the first time after the renting out of housing, the guests became witnesses of strange and inexplicable phenomena in the house. At night, when the weather was inclement outside, in the apartments there were suddenly drawn out howls, groans and crying. Therefore, the widowed Orlova decided to quickly get rid of the apartment building and sell it. It was later discovered that these paranormal phenomena arose due to the evil revenge of the builders. In all likelihood, Mrs. Orlova did not appreciate their work enough and underpaid them a significant sum of money. Therefore, they decided to take revenge and hammered eggshells, pieces of pipes and broken bottles into the chimneys and furnace holes.
