Scientists from the United States have found out what day of the week people die most often. Also, experts named the common causes of death.

Employees of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention studied the statistics on deaths recorded in the country from 1999 to 2014, and found that most often people die on Saturday, and less often on Sunday. Also, experts have compiled a list of the most common causes of death. This ranking includes diseases of the cardiovascular system, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, accidents, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, influenza, pneumonia, kidney disease and suicide.

In addition, according to scientists, deaths from HIV, drug overdose, liver disease and Parkinson's disease are quite common.

Comparing the data obtained, experts found that on Monday people most often die from heart disease, on Tuesday - from flu and pneumonia, on Friday - from drug overdose, and on Saturday and Sunday - from accidents and gunshot wounds. Also, experts found that on Thursday, deaths caused by diabetes and heart attack are the least common.
