It happened on May 16, 1990. The amazing news quickly spread across border villages in the south of Western Transbaikalia, and then through publications in the Kyakhta regional newspaper Leninskoe Znamya and the republican Pravda Buryatiya it went beyond the region.

And this is what happened. In the middle of a clear sunny day, the sky over Kudara-Somon somehow turned strangely yellow. Soon, many saw a large fireball with a diameter of up to 40 meters approaching from the direction of Mongolia.

Zigzagging in the sky, he came down and sat on the top of the hill. Three humanoid creatures emerged from the facility and headed down the mountainside to the residential buildings. The fourth crew member remained with the aircraft.

The growth of the aliens was visually determined at 3-4 meters. When a crowd of local residents, led by a police detachment on a motorcycle, rushed up the mountain, the creatures stopped, turned back, sat in an object, which, illuminating the surroundings with a flash of fire, rose and instantly disappeared into the sky, as if dissolved.

I visited the scene a couple of months later, being a person who does not believe in the existence of inhabited space worlds and extraterrestrial aliens. In Kudara-Somon, there was only talk about the mysterious visit of "aliens from outer space." Someone watched the glowing ball from afar, someone close.

The workers of the Kudarinskiy District Pope were especially lucky, since the spacecraft landed near its base. I went up that mountain too. Burnt grass, traces of four "support legs" and an arched pothole on the rocky ground. She surprised me most of all: only heavy equipment could leave her, but she cannot climb here because of the rocky ledges and the steepness of the slope. Over time, the excitement began to fade.

About a quarter of a century passed in this way. One day in the spring of 2011, they called me from Moscow. The program "Mysterious Russia" of the NTV television company asked for an interview about the more frequent news about the appearance of unidentified flying objects over Lake Baikal, descending into the depths of the lake, and the "emerging" from there of the giant growth of "people" in luminous overalls.

Probably, I was considered knowledgeable on this issue from the early newspaper and magazine articles I wrote in previous years. The guests turned out to be real researchers of everything mysterious, traveling around the country and filming documentaries about the places of observation of unidentified flying objects.

They have already communicated with hundreds of eyewitnesses, held in their hands objects of extraterrestrial origin found at the landing sites. Asked:

- And on the territory of Buryatia there were cases of UFO landings? The first thing that came to mind was an archival summary from N. S. Romanov's Irkutsk Chronicles for 1904: “On July 1, in Adrianovka of the Trans-Baikal Region, at 10 o'clock in the evening, a balloon with rotating searchlights was seen. The fact that this is not a comet is evidenced by the presence of windows in a rigid metal case.

The flight trajectory is interesting - strictly along the Transsib under construction, as if someone was studying the cause of the accumulation of people and equipment along the railway line. And since the first trains were already running on the Trans-Baikal Railway, it seemed as if the luminous object was following one of the trains, trying on its low speed at that time.

But the most interesting thing is that the first balloons appeared in Irkutsk a decade later, and aircraft began to fly only with the outbreak of the civil war in 1918. Having told this story, I immediately remembered the story of the UFO landing in Kudara-Somon. This story led experts to the decision to immediately go to the site of the old event.

For the "purity" of the study, I was asked to be the first one not to enter into conversations with residents, so as not to accidentally "provoke" eyewitnesses to the desired answer. Frankly speaking: I went to Kudara-Somon with a grain of doubt. After all, almost a quarter of a century has passed since that moment. But I knew for sure: a local police squad was leaving for the UFO landing site, and its incident report should be in the operational summary.

Incredible! We expected sneers or denial of a long-standing fact, but local law enforcement officers immediately named about a dozen fellow villagers who were direct eyewitnesses, and one of the employees even himself participated in the "meeting" of space aliens. There is indeed a report on the incident, but it was handed over to the archives of the Kyakhtinsky ROVD long ago.

This militiaman became a consultant to the Moscow telegroup of ufologists and gathered many eyewitnesses. All daylight, the Trans-Baikal village on the border with Mongolia lived in one desire to tell the guests the details of that distant incident on May 16, 1990. "Why didn't you come for so long, we have been waiting for you for over twenty years!" - people said.

We managed to collect many real eyewitnesses of the event, record their stories, and with some climb the mountain to the landing site of the alien spacecraft. For a full day of light, a group of ufologists has collected rich material that still awaits scientific comprehension.

Of course, the eyewitnesses were already of retirement age, but the same was told by their children, who at that time were boys. Fragments of stories were included in the hour-long television film “Mysterious Russia. Irkutsk - Ulan-Ude: Guests from the Future”, which was shown on the NTV channel on December 17, 2011 and several times later.

So, what actually happened in the Trans-Baikal border village? Informant Marina Evgenievna Zimireva says:

- It was at lunchtime. Natasha Sokovikova and I are going home for lunch from the base of the Kudarinskiy district police station. She says: “It is not clear what it is with my skirt, it seems that the color has changed, turned brown, but was black. In the dust, or what?"

Then we came back from dinner, we were working, after fifteen or twenty minutes the girls were calling: “Go, go, the UFO has flown!”. Zoya Badmaeva was the first to see, she was on the porch, she called us. We went out, and there really is an “object” on the mountain - so round, silvery, shining. There won't be a kilometer from us. There were a lot of people at the base, they took binoculars.

On that day, Zoya Badmaeva came to the office of the raypo from lunch before everyone else and got down to work. Soon I felt “on the back of my head”, as if someone's magic call - “Look!”. I went out onto the porch and gasped: there was an unusual yellow-orange light on the street, and there was a silver-colored object on the mountain. She immediately ran to call the women. Natalya Andreevna Sokovikova adds:

- For some reason my skirt turned yellow. When I was called, I was at the warehouse. They tell me jokingly: you’re tall, they must have come for you. They laughed, then someone went and scared (the aliens). Another eyewitness to the event, Margarita Garmatsyrenovna Tsybikova from the same district poo shares her memories:

- Everyone saw in the district, 50-60 people, many are gone, who saw. The ball was iridescent, crimson-silver. There was also some unusual wind, yellow, and the sand was yellow. The mountain is bald, you can see everything. Some people came out of there. One large - in dark, others smaller - like in orange-silver.

The ball was spinning and overflowing. All nature turned yellow while they were here. Before this incident, Vladimir Dondopov did not believe in foreign aliens, "but here it is: I saw a UFO with my own eyes, and next to it a" man "about four meters tall …". Marina Zimireva:

- Then the object turned around and the windows became visible from the side … The diameter of the "object" was larger than the house. Through binoculars I saw three men in orange spacesuits, walking down the mountainside one after another. Then someone saw the fourth from the other side. They walked in a sweeping pace, it was a long way to see faces.

Then the police went there, they also looked through binoculars. Ivan Agafonov rode a motorcycle with a police officer. Maybe they scared me. Immediately - once! - and disappeared. To say that you can't fly away - they instantly disappeared, as if they never existed. Olga Fedotova's house in Kudara-Somon was at the foot of the mountain on which the flying object landed.

She came home for lunch that day and immediately noticed that the snow-white tulle on the window had turned gray. The face of her daughter Tanya was of the same color, which made her mother think that she was ill. But the daughter pointed to the mountain, where the vehicle had already landed. “Apparently, there was some kind of radiation from the object or the light was reflected from it.

Many noticed that the reflection was somewhat yellowish, the color (of things) changed. Then (when the device flew away) everything disappeared. In the evening we came home, the tulle is white again”. By the way, another curious fact related to the glow. “Then many,” Olga Fedotova continued, “had Chinese (wall) calendars with color photographs of girls.

After this incident, the hair of all the girls in the photo began to turn gray. After the disappearance of the UFO, the “gray” color did not change to the previous one. Our guys collected and burned these calendars. And here is the testimony of Olga Viktorovna Bukholtseva:

- On Pervomaiskaya, the extreme (towards the mountain) street, everything turned yellow for a while. "It" (UFO) seemed to me oval, steel color. Several figures in shiny pinkish long robes. Two are closer (in height) and head taller than the others. I also thought they were men, and the smaller ones were women. It seemed to me that they are longer than people, but they look like people. When ours began to drive up, they disappeared. Then the light immediately became normal.

Our film group also found one of those who rushed with the policeman to the aliens on a motorcycle, ahead of the crowd of fellow villagers. It was Ivan Agafonov, now living in Ulan-Ude. He said: - I then worked in the district. Police officer Zimirev says: "Let's go!" - since I had a motorcycle on the move. Zimirev hurries, but while we were driving around the foot of the hill to get closer to the object, it soared up and instantly disappeared into the sky.

When we climbed to the landing site, we saw only the crushed grass from the four "steps" of the apparatus. They are about a meter in size, and the distance from each other is several meters, forming the diameter of the lower part of the UFO in 30-40 meters. A. Gendunov, an employee of the Kyakhta Museum of Local Lore, says: - Nobody saw that the creatures entered or exited via some kind of ladder. They just appeared side by side. And the fourth appeared as if from the slope.

All these events fit into the interval between two and three in the afternoon. Residents watched the object for about 40-50 minutes. Museum staff traveled to the area of the UFO appearance and, just in case, took soil samples, which were then sent to the BNTs for analysis. I heard that scientists have found nothing unusual.

What was so interested in the aliens in the south of Buryatia and, in particular, in Kudara-Somon, where the aliens from outer space decided to go on foot? From here, from the top of the mountain, the village can be seen at a glance. Tidy houses stretch along the streets of the Kudarinka River. We see each person hurrying about their business.

It will take twenty minutes to get here. But climbing the steep rocky slopes will take more time. If there were no crowds, one could observe aliens from outer space. The nature of the “yellow fog” remains unclear. He appeared before the UFO landing and held on until the moment of his disappearance.

This "fog" had the power of impact on earthly objects, penetrating even into dwellings, as if scanning the space of the landing site. And yet the mysterious case in Kudara-Somon is unique in that hundreds of people of different ages saw the "landing" of the aliens at the same time, which makes us take it seriously.

Such a collective hallucination cannot exist in nature. The silence of the official science indicates that it is not yet able to give a reasoned explanation to the event.
