George Washington almost became a zombie: a mad scientist was going to resurrect him using the blood of a lamb
When the first president of the United States, George Washington, passed away in 1799, architect William Thornton decided to resurrect him for the sake of the country, The Daily Mail reports, citing a blog post io9. Thornton made history as the architect of the Capitol in the capital of the United States, but he also had a medical degree and was interested in blood transfusion - an innovative idea for those times.
Ice was laid over Washington's body while preparing for the funeral. Thornton offered the widow a three-step plan: 1) defrost the body by the fireplace and rub it with blankets, 2) “insert bellows into the trachea and pump air into the lungs,” 3) make a lamb blood transfusion, which will breathe in the “spark of life”.
