The English elites did not accept the loss of imperial status and the title of Britain as the ruler of the seas. A number of events that have taken place over the past two years, which seem random only at first glance, convincingly say that the British have begun their big game for the return of Great Britain to its former status.
The war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the aggression against Libya, the riots in Egypt, Brexit, the Skripal poisoning, the accusation of Syria and Russia in the use of chemical weapons, missile attacks on Syria - all this seems to be a series of tragic senseless events behind which is the main world hegemon with the unpredictable Trump at the helm …
In general, one can understand why this chaos is needed by the United States - to create points of tension in the world and to maintain world leadership on this global confrontation. And the European allies stand behind the United States. Or is there no united front? And what role does Great Britain play in this alliance, which in recent years has simply been showing hyperactivity in world politics?
In order to answer the last question, you need to recall some of the events that took place during the Second World War.
Before World War II, Great Britain was the largest state in the world, both in area and in population - an empire over which the sun does not set. Not the most powerful economically, but even the most serious player in the big geopolitics. The Second World War did not go at all as planned in London and the "Mistress of the Seas" unexpectedly found herself in a difficult situation - there was a defeat in continental Europe, and German air raids on the kingdom, and German submarines that organized a real blockade of the island - Great Britain For many centuries she lived off the colonies, and the Germans began to drown the transports that went to Great Britain and quickly led the English economy to collapse and the threat of starvation.
There were not enough warships to escort transports from the colonies, and in 1940 Churchill was forced to turn to his main ally, the United States, for help. Roosevelt got into a difficult position for the British and offered to transfer about 100 American destroyers to the Royal Navy. Not the newest or, more precisely, not new at all, but almost free. The Americans were ready to transfer the destroyers on one condition - companies from the United States would receive the right to trade with the British colonies.
The fact is that before the events described, the British, under the threat of the use of force, did not allow anyone into their colonies. Moreover, in Great Britain it was considered a criminal offense to build industrial enterprises in the British colonies - the colonies were suppliers of raw materials, and all goods with high added value were received by the British colonies from the mother country. The war forced the Americans to enter these economic paradises.
And what happened next - you yourself know. The Americans did not leave the colonies after the war. Moreover, it was the Americans who forced the British to "dissolve the empire" after the end of World War II.

For some time, the British elites somehow put up with the loss of status, if not a world hegemon, then a major player in geopolitics. Rather, they did not even reconcile, but were looking for a way to regain their status, and, to be honest, the colonies, as a source of economic prosperity. And the situation with the national economy is really not developing very well (now is not the place to analyze the nuances of British GDP growth, which has already included prostitution and drugs).
There was hope to ride the European Union and lead the emerging European empire. It can be assumed that it was for this purpose that Great Britain joined the family of fraternal European nations. It joined, I must say, on preferential terms and with good preferences. However, it soon became clear that the European Union already has a state that claims supreme power in Europe and the Germans are not going to give up this dream of theirs, and it will not be possible to defeat Germany in an honest economic and political struggle.
Moreover, it will not work out that the United States, which initially advocated European integration, made it clear that they would not allow the emergence of a single state association in Europe. The European Union in its current amorphous state (without a single economy, army and politics) suits the Americans, but Washington does not need a united Europe as a potential competitor even in the economy. And it doesn't matter who will be at the head of this European Union.
It is clear that if the European Union does not form a single state, then this community will not last long: there are external players who do not need a monolithic European Union, and there are growing problems in the EU itself, which Brussels cannot solve (or does not want under the influence of external pressure), which causes discontent already in Europe itself.
In such a situation, there could be two solutions for the UK:
- stay in the European Union, spoil relations with the United States and make efforts to create a full-fledged empire in Europe in order to take an honorable second (and, given the worsening economic situation, not second) place in this association;
- leave the European Union and join the United States as the 666th state.
Both of these decisions put a bold cross on the claims of the British elites, who again want to rule the seas from London. Precisely because they want to rule again, and the third way was chosen - to restore the British Empire.
And to revive the empire, it is necessary to recreate the corresponding economic zone. And such a zone cannot be successful, in the modern world, if less than 500 million people live in it. Only 80 million live on the island. Where can I get another 420 that will feed 80?

The future empire should include France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, the Maghreb countries (Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Western Sahara and Mauritania) and some former colonies in Asia.
To carry out the plan, the English gentlemen decided not to invent a bicycle, but to repeat a game that had already been played in Europe at the end of the nineteenth century. And which, then, led to the First and Second World Wars.
At the end of the nineteenth century, France began to actively intervene in English affairs in the Middle East, and especially in the "original British possessions": Egypt and the Suez Canal. It was decided in London that the French were posing a threat to British India. And the French began to actively build a military fleet, threatened to annex Belgium to France. All of this together threatened British greatness.
At that moment, the "Spanish inheritance" arose again - France and Prussia nominated their candidates for the Spanish throne (at that time there was no united Germany). Napoleon III, in an ultimatum, demanded that the Prussian William I renounce his claims to the Spanish throne. Wilhelm frankly did not want war and tried to settle the conflict. However, third interested forces intervened in the fading confrontation.
England offered France a large loan on preferential terms for future military victories, British diplomats actively worked with, as they would say now, public opinion, and as a result, French society literally began to demand a war with Prussia. Moreover, the mighty Great Britain also promised to take the side of France. Support, if not by military force, then by money and diplomacy.
Napoleon III demanded from William I to make a statement, in writing, that Prussia undertakes “never to encroach on the dignity of France”, which at that time was already a direct and gross insult to the Prussian monarchy. Wilhelm, however, decided to give in. But the Prussian chancellor O. Bismarck intervened in the matter, who corrected the royal dispatch (made the answer rather harsh) and published this "commitment" in the press.
On July 19, 1870, France declared war on Prussia. As a result, on March 1, 1871, Prussian troops entered Paris, and on March 10, France signed a surrender. Napoleon III took off the crown and France, once again, became a republic. A powerful German Empire appeared on the map.
And the British during this war took a demonstratively neutral position.
France had no time for the Middle East, since a powerful aggressive rival appeared on the border … Then the story went the way it went. Largely thanks to London.
However, that was almost one hundred and fifty years ago … And in modern Britain, it seems quite by accident, Brexit occurs. Not all is well in North and West Africa … To return the Arab states to their sphere of influence, the British had to weaken and then destroy Israel. A lot of work was done, but then Trump came and if not everything, then spoiled a lot. First, Turkey rushed to the region, then Iran sharply outlined its positions. And finally, Russian military bases appeared in Syria. The plan for the privatization of the Maghreb countries today looks more and more like a fruitless dream …
So far, only one direction is being successfully implemented - the creation of an enemy from Russia. The British plan assumes the collapse of the European Union, the actual colonization of some countries in North and West Africa, Asia. That will naturally lead to a drop in living standards in Great Britain itself. And who should be responsible for all this?

Wouldn't the British want to remember who buried their empire?
For several centuries the army and the most powerful fleet in the world stood behind the spoiling Englishwoman. And today there is no such greatness, hung with cannons, and the threat of Theresa May to deliver a nuclear strike on Moscow is more like the delirium of a very unhealthy person.
The collapse of the British plan for the revival of the empire will turn into big problems for Great Britain - they risk even leaving big politics as a significant value. For this reason, the Englishwoman will shit with redoubled energy. And today she will shit exactly where she succeeds - in the demonization of Russia.
