The Smalls' Victorian mansion is not in the woods at all, although in the suburban area, but foxes are not common here. Wild foxes rarely dare to approach a person's dwelling, and the grandmother probably experienced the strongest shock in her life when, asleep, she realized that the animal on her bed was not a cat, but a young fox.
At the same time, the animal touched her face, even scratched her a little, and Mary woke up from his touch. At the sight of the fox, she screamed so that the house barely resisted and jumped out from under the blanket in great fear. Later, remembering all the events, Mary admitted that she had never moved so fast before. Mary's husband, 69-year-old Tony, came running to the scream of his wife and saw a fox sitting in Mary's room near a leather chair and boldly looking at people.
Tony photographed the fox, and then, frightening, managed to kick him out the door of the house. He assumes that the fox was able to break into the house late at night when he went outside to smoke.
-I opened my eyes and saw a huge fox's face, you know, something always seems big if he looks down at you, - shares Mary's experiences, - the worst thing is that he was not afraid of me at all. He looked with curiosity, but without a drop of fear. I took a shower and then washed the whole house, because I thought that he had been everywhere and touched everything …

According to Tony, the fox looked like three months, maybe a little more and he was very brave, once he walked from the door through the whole house, and even made his way into the bedroom of his wife, who suffers from a phobia of foxes. Mary still hasn't completely gone through her fright and she is still worried.
When representatives of the local animal protection society RSPCA found out about this case, they said that foxes are inherently vagabonds and constantly move from place to place in search of food and for this they are forced to trust people and are not afraid of them. Urbanization is fundamentally changing their habits and habits.
